Without a doubt the very best chowder in County Kerry. And perhaps even the whole of Ireland, but that requires further research. Your spoon simply remains upright among the mass of fish.

Food was fine, waiter was awful, took order with his back to me. Felt very unwelcome so will not be returning and will be advising others of our experience.

A great pub in a lovely setting. The Guinness is flawless and the food seriously tasty. Generous portion sizes. The staff are incredibly friendly and really look after patrons. I had the chicken burger and it was lovely.

Delicious food. Perfect Guinness and really lovely staff. Well worth dropping in while doing the ring of Kerry or the Wild Atlantic Way. Beautiful surrounding area with lots to see. Great walks, beach and friendly and kind locals. Highly recommend.

This was an absolutely unplanned stop on our drive through the ring of kerry. Being vegetarians, we went inside hesitatingly but the warmth and friendly nature of the staff won us over. We just had fries, onion rings, cappuccino and hot chocolate, so I won't...be able to give you a detailed review of the food but the place was so good to us on the whole that it deserves a 5 star review. A special shout out to Leon and Jill for being such wonderful hosts.More

We’ve been eating in the Piper for decades now when we visit the area and we had a delicious dinner this evening. A party of three, between us we had the battered hake (very light and well seasoned crispy batter), smash burger (jammy onions were...delicious) and seafood gratin (lovely chunks of smoked fish and large prawns). We all sampled eachothers meals and everything was really fresh and tasty. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Special thanks to attentive waiter whose name we didn’t catch but said his aunt is a manager there.More

This is a unique place that we visited on tour and had a lovely lunch . There were two big groups in for lunch as well as locals I guess, they coped very well, our meal came out very quick and it was lovely and...hot. We had the beef Irish stew and the fish and chips, very nice and very filling. A must place to visit when driving the Ring Of Kerry areaMore

I’ve passed this pub many times but never visited. Based on TripAdvisors’s reviews, I decided to try it. It has the feeling of a traditional local pub with limited seating outside. I selected battered hake and chips. Thankfully the batter coating didn’t overpower the hake...(which happens too often). In my view the main taste should be the fish, not the batter. Presentation was very good. It was as very pleasant lunch enjoyed outdoors in sunshine.More

Our travel service arranged a lunch here and the food was good, the environment was fun and the service was terrific. The menu was made up of traditional Irish food and it hit the spot. Nice relaxed lunch.

On a bus tour comprised of 24 tourists plus driver, and we were easily and pleasantly accommodated for lunch. We had been advised of the best fish and chips around, and it was indeed delicious, along with our pints. A true and authentic gem that...definitely warrants a visit if you're in the area.More
