This is the place you want to eat!

Not only is the lodge full of local history, but the food is also what brings me back again and again! They have a great breakfast buffet, fabulous coffee and for dinner or lunch, you can get the best Reindeer Burger you will ever have!!...Great local beer as well!More

Very good burger!

The best meal inn Svalbard. Cmc burger, i have never eaten such a good burger before! Friendly staff and good service!

Delicious Diner

enjoyable food - perfect waiters

the venue is nice, the food is great and the waiters are just unbelievable. just a shame that it´s allmost to far to walk there from the middle of the town

Good atmosphere, good breakfast, good dinner, good lounge to sum up.

By five PM all activities have come to an end and you need a place where to stay. The Coal Miners' lounge is the perfect place for a nice meal, a beer and relax. You can watch TV, read or talk to your friends. Even...you can buy last minute souvenirs.More

Great burger and even better salmon!

We are twice at the restaurant and it was good. Also because it was across the street and we were super lazy at the evenings ha ha. Burgers are tasty, salmon is absolutely amazing.

Nice and cool atmosphere

We really liked the Coal Miners Bar & Grill. After a nice visit to Svalbard Gallery to see the paintings of Kåre Tveter, we wanted to relax and have a soda, a beer and a snack. First of all, the Coal Miners Bar & Grill...is retro cool with a lot of furniture, lamps and interior elements from the 1950-70s, put together in a contemporary, casual and relaxed way. This place used to be the old cantina of the miners, and Nybyen is the name of the place and this used to be the workers district of Longyearbyen. My son and I were received very nicely by a friendly Swedish speaking employee. All visitors can borrow a wide range of board games, and we really enjoyed spending some time there, and yes, we enjoyed playing a few rounds of Uno. Located a 20 min. fresh walk from the center of Longyearbyen, BUT, it is really worth the walk. One of the most interesting places to spend some time indoors in Longyearbyen! We will be back!More

Great little place out of town

Stayed here before a tour and found the restaurant/lounge area really relaxed. Staff were great, really friendly and seemed genuinely like they wanted to make sure you had a good meal and were comfortable. There was a good amount of choice for breakfast and the...meals we had here were great, the burgers especially!More

Evening Meal at the Miners

We had been reloaded to the Coal miners cabin lodge due to an over booking issue at the Radisson Blu hotel. The evening meal at the Coal Miners was therefore organised by the Radisson hotel. That said the meal was of good quality and amount...and every enjoyable. The staff were also excellent hosts and ensured that all our requirements were met.More
