This is a popular cafe among the Locals and Tourists. Sometimes very crowded. A variety of Sandwicher, salads and Cakes plus home made Luxury Chocklades. We had Sandwiches and Water. Value for money

Very nice decoration and atmosphere. It smells all around the shopping center! Increvable! Great choice of delicious fine chocolates they make there. Quite expensive but the northernmost chocolaterie of the planet!

Fruene is located in the small shopingcenter, Lompensenteret, in the center of the small town. They serve good lunch, cakes, and some homemade chocolates. Everything tastes fine. We had lunch there one day. The gulasjsoup is as good as you will find in its homeland Hungary, and sanwiches tastes good as well. The wine is good and cheap (relatively). Service... More

We were in Longyearbyen to join an Arctic Expedition and arrived a day earlier, so were looking for somewhere for lunch. On a walk up the main...and only... street, on a bright sunny day, we saw people dining at outdoor seating, and liked what we saw. We ventured inside where pre- made sandwiches and rolls were available, but you could... More

Visited here with a group of friends this week. We had disembarked from our ship and nowhere was open. They opened up for us to have hot drinks while we waited for the shops etc to open. Great hot chocolate and excellent customer service. We were a large group so it was worth their while but they were the only... More

Like all visitors to Longyearbyen, when you arrive you may be hungry. We walked up the street and the first place we saw was full of people eating and speaking many languages. This seemed like a good recommendation to stop. The initial response is you may need to be local to find out how to order. Not so. English is... More

Waiting to start a Gadventures expedition, we walked up the main street to Fruene Kaffe at the recommendation of one of the Gadventures’ local staff. There was a good crowd, but the counter service was efficient in assembling the orders and moving people through the line. Good choice of items from soup to sandwiches and pastries, along with coffee, juice... More

We had lunch here twice. They have the most beautiful bread which you can have made into a sandwich of your choice. They also do pasta salad, pizza slices and egg and bacon baguettes. There's always something vegetarian - just ask if unsure. Coffee is great too, as are desserts. They also double up as a chocolatier and do cute... More

If we were locals, we'd spend way too much time here. It's a fabulous little cafe for lunch at a good price (for Norwegian prices). If they have the mushroom soup that day, GET IT. I had it two days in a row. The tomato soup was also very good. They have great bread, and make the open-faced Norwegian-style standwiches.... More
