Had a really nice meal here. Good selection of food on the menu from Cod and chips to Duck a'lorange. Food and service were excellent and certainly would recommend to friends(and have) Has been spruced up recently and is much brighter than it used to be.

We chose this at Random and were impressed by the location (village green), the welcome (friendly and warm), the atmosphere (roaring log fire) and most importantly the food. My wife had a homemade runny scotch egg and I had King Prawns to start with. The Egg was particularly impressive. For our mains I chose a roast beef in red wine... More

The food was very over cooked - which is probably made more obvious when you can see how long your steak is being left unattended on the grill through the television live feed! For somewhere which is trying to specialise as a grill, this is something you'd hope the staff would be pretty on the ball with. The best food... More

Met friends for evening meal ! I hadn't been to this place for years but had always enjoyed the venue ! Can't quite put my finger on it but was sadly disappointed! Staff were friendly food was well presented overpriced and portion sizes far too large !

Back again, for about the 20th time. The Sunday roast is a terrific variation on the standard theme. As usual this place is welcoming, comfortable and the food was top notch. Sometimes its a shame that there has to be other customers. Always the potential to be the wildly unreasonable variable. Ironic that the pub now features in the BBC2... More

Visited 28 Jan 2017. 3rd visit since November last year. Party of 6. Service, excellent Food, excellent Environment, excellent Value for money, excellent. Would recommend the "Load of bull". Shepherds pie, beef wellington, chips, veggies and mushroom gravy, £17.99. It was massive and tasted great!! This pub is well worth a visit.
