What can we add to the excellent reviews already posted for this hotel? We would say that it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, with a friendly welcome in the car park, to the point of departure, we could not fault this hotel in any way. Our room was very well appointed with a comfortable bed, good bathroom with shower cubicle, walk-in wardrobe and the usual tea and coffee-making facilities (fresh coffee with a cafetiere in the room was a treat rather than the usual instant stuff). There was a good quality radio in the room and I'm sure the television would have been good too but we didn't watch it. We had booked a package which included a cream tea (scones, jam, cream with prosecco) on the first day. This was excellent. The food was delicious (breakfast and evening meal) on all three days. We could not fault anything - locally produced meat and fish, all beautifully cooked and served. Every member of the team working there, from the owner to the chef, were very professional; friendly and efficient in everything they were doing. We will certainly be paying another visit.

We were not staying at the hotel but had heard such good things about the meal time experience that we booked a table over the phone where we were asked if it was s special occasion (it was our wedding anniversary). From the moment we arrived we were greeted and treated as though we were stars, pre drinks and complimentary canapes in the bar then taken through to the beautifully decorated 1920/30's restaurant Food was out of this world, wine delicious and the whole team working there attentive friendly and engaging. Back to the bar after dinner for more drinks where a cake with sparkler was brought out to us by the staff. Altogether a wonderful night to remember. We will be back and next time to stay at the hotel as other guests (most returning for a number of years) that we sat in the bar sharing drinks with could not speak highly enough of their experience here. A wonderful gem hidden in a little village. Thank you for making our anniversary so special.

Just had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel in one of their 4 poster bedrooms. Impressed from the moment we arrived. Greeted by Dale who showed us around the hotel and to our room. We had afternoon tea and the scones were very big so we would have liked a little more clotted cream and jam – minor whinge. We decided to have a walk into town (5 mins. away). Not a lot to see, it seems to be full of takeaways. Although the church is quite interesting in the centre of town. Upon arriving for our evening meal we were greeted by Hugh (the owner), who was very friendly and told us a little bit about the history of the Hotel and the connection with Agatha Christie. Our menu choices were taken in the bar by Rachel who was very professional at her job and very easy to talk to. Prior to going to the dining room we were served canapes in the bar. Upon being seated at our table and before the starter we were served a delicious amuse bouche. My choices were scallops, venison and brioche pudding. From the first mouthful to the last -absolutely delicious. Followed by coffee in the bar. We will be back!

We arrived to be immediately greeted outside the front entrance of the hotel by the actual owner wanting to assist with our bags etc. The check in process, faultless. Shown to our room where everything was explained, and then shown round the hotel itself. The level of quality provided by the staff with respect to customer service is not something we have experienced before, Excellent. The restaurant is also really really good. The food especially at evening meal is of a fantastic quality, if you visit you should not be disappointed. The breakfast is also very good. Everything you should require to set you up for the day. We do not normally return to somewhere we have visited previously, but have had no hesitation in booking a further visit later on this year. Thank you to all concerned for making our visit one to remember.

It felt strange when we were seated in a small lounge but once an extra table was placed with us and the food arrived we all settled in for what was a fantastic afternoon tea. It included finger sandwiches accommodating a fussy eater. Sausage rolls, a savoury tart, then the warm scones with strawberry jam and cream. A choice of teas is offered and refilled. Then the cakes there were mini versions of Victoria sponges, chocolate eclairs & macaroons and then there were the shot deserts of lemon posset and tiramisu. Each and every morsel produced with a magic touch. We will be back soon

Arrived for Sunday lunch and received a wonderfully warm and friendly welcome. We then enjoyed fresh and tasty food that was well presented and cooked to a very high standard. We usually dine in London and this restaurant held its own with the best of them. Faultless. Thoroughly recommend the Beechwood for either just great food and service, or a special occasion (ours was a birthday meal). We shall definitely be returning.

An amazing hotel with quality and standards that we thought we might not see again. From the cream tea on arrival to the excellent breakfast four days later we had such wonderful food from a very varied menu it was so had to choose what to have. Even with Covid restrictions the hotel maintain Quality service of historic standards.

Truly remarkable establishment with a great owner and attentive staff. My fiancée and I stayed in one of the new Garden Spa rooms and the room did not disappoint at all. The jacuzzi outside was an amazing experience in itself, lovely temperature, easy to use, complete privacy as well. The sauna was also easy to use and enjoyable. The actual bedroom was clean and nicely decorated and the bed was so comfy, we could have laid in, all morning. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and the copper bath was the standout feature. Great accommodation - highly recommend. Also the 4 course a la carte dining was delicious and the afternoon tea when we arrived was again like everything else at this establishment - perfect. The place is spotlessly clean and we are definitely going to return.

Really wonderful dining experience. Visited on a balmy warm fri evening for a tasting menu dinner for my birthday greeted by friendly staff and shown into the bar for pre dinner drink . Excellent service throughout the entire evening , I felt the food was fantastic quality and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole night. I if visiting North Walsham area again certainly wouldn’t hesitate to return or to recommend the Beechwood hotel & restaurant.

My wife and I last stayed at the Beechwood Hotel some 8 years ago under previous ownership so we knew we would be staying in a very prestigious looking building with large beautiful grounds and a long history of famous guests. From the moment of our arrival we appreciated the numerous, tasteful and expensive improvements made by the current owners. The whole hotel is absolutely immaculate. Every area is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout in high class Art Deco furniture, mirrors and art work; the theme even extended to the superbly covered menus. We stayed for afternoon cream tea served on the lawn, a four course dinner cooked to perfection by a team of four top chefs and a superb tummy stretching breakfast. I must add the food, all locally sourced, is of the finest quality and portion size is generous. I could mention many other aspects in detail, the excellent staff ( especially Jess and Phoebe) , the specialty marmalade, the delicious Lobster, the wide range of really good wines and the good parking facilities with baggage help if requested. To sum up : a real jewel of a hotel and we will be back for one of the future themed evenings.

We stayed in Room 9, Agatha Christie's room. It was a beautiful room with a wonderful spacious ensuite bathroom. We booked this as a one night honeymoon treat. The hotel arranged for us to have a complimentary glass of prosecco brought up to our room which was a lovely surprise. The customer service was of the highest standard and so was the food. We ate in the restaurant for dinner. Our main course was halibut which was cooked beautifully. We had a vegetarian cooked breakfast the next morning which was also to a high standard with plenty on our plates! We thoroughly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. The staff were, without exception, amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

An excellent 7 course taster menu at the Beechwood this evening to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The hotel has a delightful country house ambience yet is only a five minute from North Walsham town centre and has some nice art deco furnishings throughout. The menu was exceptional value at £70 per head, and my wife enjoyed the wine flight, just £30 for two glasses of red, two white, dessert and port, all well chosen to match the food. The menu is available on the website, but I will attach some pictures, suffice to say all was delicious, and nicely explained by the young waiting staff. Very well recommended for a special evening.

The hotel is excellent, as is the food. We had a four-poster room which was large and had a very interesting bathroom with both shower and freestanding bath. The bed was large and very comfortable. The staff, and there are many, are very attentive and happy to help. Dinner was included in our deal and the food is outstanding. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar with a couple of tasty hors d'oeuvres while you choose from the menu. At our table we had an additional little starter then the real starter, main course and dessert all served by quietly efficient staff. Breakfast was served equally efficiently and the choices were great - I chose scrambled eggs with salmon on both days and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall a great couple of days

What a fabulous hotel from start to finish. So special to have a welcoming owner hosting operations and very friendly and efficient staff. Our 4 poster room had beautiful quality furnishings, was very spacious and a large bathroom with excellent power shower. The hotel is furnished to a high standard with very appropriate furniture given it's history to reflect the period and adds an interesting touch to any stay here. The two rosette dining experience starts with canapes followed by an amuse bouch and then three courses with a very good choice off two menus with the added advantage of a Chef's specials for the day. This hotel is without doubt very good value and lots of thought have been put into the operation to enhance your stay. We just wish it was a little nearer to enjoy more often

First time we have been to this hotel and it is one of those places where you know you will be returning to as many times as possible. On arrival we were met by the owner who met us as we parked our car and who insisted on taking our luggage directly to our room before we even had time to check in. Cream tea was served in the bar by very friendly staff which set the visit off very well. Our room had a large four poster bed and was extremely well appointed, very comfortable. the bar and restaurant was very much Art Deco and had been effected very smartly. The food served to us at breakfast and dinner was to a very high standard, it was nice to have linen tablecloth and napkins at all times and the serving staff were as friendly and helpful at all times, nothing was too much trouble.
