The food here is excellent. I had a simple dish, Liver and Bacon however the presentation and taste was exceptional. The staff are incredible, friendly, helpful and simply lovely. If I stay in Southwold this is the only restaurant I would need to visit it...More

I don't often re review but feel that I have to in this instance. Reading other reviews, you can see how captivated people are by the location and unique facilities that it offers. I am also mindful of the varied roles this place has -...More

What could be more British than a fish & chip supper on Southwold Pier? Sensibly priced with friendly service and a good sized portion - what's not to like?

We are a group of friends aiming to visit very pier in the country, travelling by train and bus. So we have good experience of eating in pier cafe/restaurants and all five of us agreed that the Boardwalk is the best of many we have...More

Just had a cup,of tea and a scone here. The view was beautiful, the service particularly attentive. I watched the chap that took our order ( I think his name was Richard or Robert) offer water to a passing dog owner, bring toys out for...More

This was our second visit to the Boardwalk on Southwold Pier the first one, in 2014. Not sure if it is the sea air or the Aspall cider that combines to produce the best fish and chips. Excellent service and food, my all time favourite.

As others have said, if you go to Sutherland House (qv) you expect a posh meal - here, on the pier, one might not. But, this is Southwold, and this is a £17 a head lunch of cod n chips and a drinks. Lovely beer...More

And that's the problem with this place judging from the reviews. It's on the pier and people expect a cafe. It's not. It's a restaurant and it's menu reflects this. It's not cheap but it's got a decent wine list, a proper coffee machine and...More

Did not know what to expect but had excellent meals (three of us) and very good service. I suppose I should not have been surprised in Southwold but the seaside appearance (not too surprising!) did not prepare us for the excellence within.

Description
The Boardwalk Restaurant is a family-friendly restaurant serving delicious food all day from 10.00am. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced. Open everyday of the year except Christmas Day, we serve morning coffee and cakes from 10.00am, lunches from 11.30am through to the early part of the afternoon, cream teas are a speciality in the afternoon. In the summer months we do high tea for children from 5.30pm and then suppers all evening. The hours are slightly shorter in the autumn and winter months, please check our website for daily opening hours. Sit inside or enjoy sitting on the boards outside enjoying some of the finest views of Southwold. Fully licensed, there is no nicer place to have a pint of Adnams or a glass of wine, listening to the sound of the waves beneath your feet! Please note: our food service hours are 11.30am - 4pm, and 5pm - 8.30pm. These times are weather permitting and therefore can change.
