This is the worst meal we have ever eaten. We tried this place 10 years ago and had grey, insipid food. Now we live here we thought we should give it another go. We wish we hadn't. The food was luke warm, tasteless and nothing like any Indian food we have ever had. The chicken tikka masala was like korma... More

In 37 years of eating curry this has to be the most revolting I've ever tasted. Couldn't finish it. You know, I take that back - it might not be the worst curry as I'm not convinced it has the right to be called one. Rogan Josh: warmed up meat with a weak gravy (no spice or heat whatsoever) and... Thoroughly enjoyed our 'eat in' experience. Nothing too much trouble and the food was excellent. Highly recommend

The service was friendly the food was wholesome. My Chicken jalfrezi was spicy hot as you'd expect but lacked a depth of flavour. My wife's balti dish was rather mild and overly sweet for her taste.

There aren't many options for curry in Southwold, so we always end up getting takeaway from here once or twice every time we stay there. Never spectacular, but always perfectly reasonable food, and the owner is very friendly and always makes a fuss of children when they come in. We thought our daughter would insist on fish and chips on... More

Although this is a takeaway, there are a couple of tables where the owner will let you eat & serve you food and drink. The food is delicious to boot. We always eat here when in Southwold. Love it.

Stodgy and lacking in spice. Only the Jalfrezi was spicy and fun to eat. The lamb tikka masala was more like a dessert than a savoury dish. Sorry Shoeme, you just didn't get it right.

I love Indian food and eat it wherever I go both here and abroad, Shoeme Balti offers some of the best Indian I have had and it's great it's local to us in Southwold, long may it be there! I am also health concious and their food is pure, not greasy and with tip top ingredients. Chicken Dhansak a favourite... More

OK considering there is no competition nearby. I like salt but seriously this is all laden with salt, the onion bhajis I are from the freezer and the curries are quite watery.

Visited here a couple of years ago and asked for their prawn and egg special with extra chilli. It was bland with no sign of chilli so a couple of nights later I went back and asked for the same, reinforcing my request for extra chilli. It turned up just the same - no chilli and bland. Today I revisited... More
