Best farm shop ever lovely fresh produce. Steak and kidney pie to die for lots of superb food and had a really tasty curry and fruit fool delivered fresh on pretty china generous portions and delivered with a smile Sam and her daughters make you very welcome in the shop and give all the help you need to select your goods would thoroughly recommend to anyone who likes good food, great service and very reasonable prices. Good value for money was made very welcome on my first visit so thank you well done hope cottage farm shop. Sunny bambridge

Superb takeaway afternoon tea ! Delicious and gluten free too. Thank you! Selection of scones, sandwiches, smoked salmon on savoury biscuits, cakes, crisps, salad, strawberries, jam and cream, delicious apple juice and beautifully presented. Great array of food. Had to be takeaway due to the pandemic but it did not matter at all. The farm shop has been brilliant over the pandemic - great service, takeaway and delivered Sunday lunches, good range of goods to buy from meat to cakes. Good social distance in operation too. Well done- proof that imagination and creativity has kept this business alive!

All felt very safe, lovely sunny day in the field. I had tuna melt panini with salad and crisps, my guests all had the fish finder sandwich followed by waffles .....so good! Daisy the waitress was so understanding and helpful. Will definitely go back.

W came here because the lunch menu looked quite varied. The seating area was well spaced out so we sat down expecting a server to come out; however we did not see an inconspicuous notice saying we had to order from the counter but as my wife went there so someone came to take the order - slightly confusing!
The wait for the meal was unacceptably long, around 45 minutes. It was of variable quality; my butterflied prawns were delicious but the ham my wife had was rather 'tired'.
So much for the food. The other unacceptable aspect was that one of the waiting staff knelt down to a customer's dog and cuddled it.This surely should be recognised as being hygienically wrong.
Not the best experience and we shall not return.

Thank you for your varied review. We are very sorry you didn’t have the best experience.
We do provide table service but due to these strange and difficult times with frequently updated regulations, we do ask for a little patience from our customers. We are doing all we can to keep ourselves, our staff and our customers safe. We always serve our food, which is freshly cooked within 30 mins of the order being placed in the kitchen. Our ham is fresh and we cook a new one every 2/3 days so we are sorry and confused as to why your wife’s was ‘tired’.

We pop out to Hope Cottage fairly regularly and always enjoy the experience. While the food is always delicious and the service always friendly, we are especially impressed by how Sam and Kate and all the staff have adapted to the current times we live in. This is the one place we have continued to visit because we feel safe and it gives us a feeling of a bit of normality!
Today’s breakfast was as good as ever and the addition of the marquee means we can continue to visit as autumn progresses.

My dads 90th birthday Sunday lunch and we had the most fabulous time with excellent service from all the front of house staff who are so friendly. We were a party of four generations and two dogs and it suited us all ! The food was exceptional with delicious freshly cooked roasts cooked by Sam.
To celebrate dads birthday we had preordered the most amazing heart shaped pavlova which was absolutely the best , finished with strawberries and blueberries.
We had preordered freshly cooked scones to take away to have a cream tea in the beach at pevensey bay.
This is a little gem of a find and we can’t recommend enough.
Thankyou to everyone who made our day so very special with lots of attention to detail!
We shall be back very soon.

Great food , lovely people. Throughout the pandemic they have worked so hard with farm shop , takeaway and deliveries. Now able to sit outside for lunches, snacks and afternoon tea. We have tried all of these and the Sunday roast is particularly delicious. Had roast ham which was so tender. Lots of trimmings served with it. Delicious desserts too - we had key lime pie. Easy free parking. Recommend you book as gets busy. Great place! Very friendly.

Visited for lunch with friends today, excellent service, very friendly and the food was really good. Our friends had the fish and chips and we had macaroni cheese with bacon and garlic bread. Really good and enjoyed by all. Lovely atmosphere inside the marquee which envelopes the existing outside garden eating area so good atmosphere. Menu is really varied not just for choice of main meals but also panini, salads etc.Very well priced for the quality of the food.

Rang the team on my way to see my parents to order two high teas, rather last minute and when I arrived they were ready and waiting for me.
The box of food was delicious.
Would totally recommend Hope Cottage. Every time I have rung them, they have always delivered super food and made the event special for my parents. They love visiting for lunches.
Worth a stop by.

We have been coming here for many many months and it’s always a great place to come- great friendly staff, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. On Sunday’s you can get a choice of roasts - the roast ham was so tender and they even provided me with gluten free Yorkshire puddings!!! Good choice of other dishes (crayfish and avocado salad) and their sundaes are gorgeous. They have just started to offer ruby hot chocolate - for those who have a sweet tooth! Staff wear masks and they work very hard. Would also recommend the afternoon teas! Recommend you book in advance as they are usually busy. Great place and we love coming here !

Fabulous lunch - food was delicious particularly the ham, egg and sauté potatoes and the amazing waffle with banana and caramel sauce. The ham was particularly tasty As was the macaroni cheese. Having the marquee adds to being able to be outside even in October! Chocolate and orange gluten free cake was tasty and very filling! Recommend pre booking a table as they are often busy. The staff do everything they can to make you feel welcomed and safe. They work very hard . Will be back!!

After hearing all the wonderful reviews about this place also all the great comments here on TA we booked a table for lunch.
Staff are very efficient and friendly, the food is excellent quality with a great selection on the menu, which all are great value for the quality of the food which is freshly cooked to perfection.
The restaurant is dog friendly and quirky and completed by a lovely log burner.
We’ll certainly be back in the near future, quality establishments like this need to be supported and appreciated during these difficult times.

We have just taken my dad out to hope cottage for the first time and had the most delicious lunch . My husband and I had ham , eggs and chips and my dad had scampi and chips. The service was wonderful and with how difficult it is having to eat outside at the moment hope cottage has made a very attractive gazebo!
We have taken scones home to have for tea which look scrumptious and have booked for Sunday lunch this weekend. Thankyou so much to all the team.

This is absolutely the best little place in the area, Always fantastic! The lovey young staff are always really friendly, efficient and helpful in every way. The food they serve is fresh and delicious, and the cream tea! I cannot praise it enough! A choice of different types of scone, a selection of jams, all beautifully presented and served with a smile. Well done to this lovely place . A pleasure to visit.

Katie Sam and the girls are truly lovely and helpful. We can throughly recommend Hope Farm cottage to have an all day breakfast but there are lots of choices on the menu such as Macaroni cheese, butterfly prawns, ham, egg and chips and lots of sandwich and salad choices! A great choices of homemade scones, cakes and sauge rolls too!. The farmshop also sells fresh fruit and super fresh vegetables. If you enjoy fresh food made daily in a pleasant setting then this is the place to go.
5/5 stars for us.
