A quick stop for tea and scones on a rainy February afternoon. Accompanying a proper strong cup of tea we shared a raspberry and a blueberry scone. These were fantastic, really fresh and fruity. Staff were chatty, but not intrusive. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. I’ll definitely be going back!

We'd read the owner's back story online and thought this lady has a passion for food. Not only that, she makes the most amazing scones. My wife and i had a cherry scone to share. That was a mistake as half of one of Deborah's scones will never be enough. We fixed that by arranging for a cream tea for two to be picked up the following day, to include one cherry and one raspberry scone with all the other goodies. This we took home so we could end our long weekend away with one final treat. Well worth a visit if you can get a table. Book ahead, just to make sure.

Having asked in a local shop which was the best place in Battle for a homemade piece of cake l was directed to Bluebells. Sooo pleased I asked. Bluebells was amazing the food we had was really lovely. The owner and her assistant were friendly and helpful. We had just walked round the Abbey and town in the rain and Bluebells was the highlight of our visit.

Bluebells was perfect. We popped in today before a visit to Battle Abbey which is just across the road. The homemade cake, scones and sausage rolls were absolutely delicious, in fact they were so nice we bought more to take home with us. The owner was lovely and recommended places to visit in the area. Would definitely recommend!

We recently contacted Bluebells for a birthday treat and arranged for our afternoon cream tea to be boxed up as a takeaway.....it was a real box of treats...delicious sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and a wonderful selection of cakes. If you are looking for a ray of sunshine during these strange times then I would highly recommend you pay a visit to Bluebells in Battle....you won't be disappointed.

This excellent tearoom has a perfect ambience and is enhanced by the backdrop of the Battle Abbey Gatehouse and the Battle Abbey ‘Green’. Absolutely gorgeous 5 star scones with cream and jam are served on slate plates and beautiful china tea ware. The young waitresses are delightful, helpful and smiling and the whole experience is one to savour.

Debbie is a gem and a font of knowledge for visitors to the area. We were lucky enough to have her homemade Raspberry scones with real clotted cream and jam....a-maz-ing 🤩. We visited her twice and the cooked to order warm baguettes were delicious, service extremely friendly and would definitely go back if we are over that way in East Sussex again.

Bluebells Tearoom is well worth a visit - I visited today from Maidstone and it was definitely worth the drive. I have visited before pre-COVID. I am so pleased that Bluebells has weathered the storm of COVID and has bounced back better than ever. Deborah is the wonderful front of house, owner, baker of amazing cakes and everything else this tearoom has to offer. Deborah has an amazing friend who works with her, and the service received from her was fantastic (I am sorry I didn't get your name but you know who you are) I had a brie and bacon panini and it was lovely, very reasonably priced and a fantastic service experienced. I also had the wonderful raspberry home made scones, which are warmed before serving with jam and clotted cream. If you are looking for a road trip then please travel to Battle and visit Bluebells, you won't be disappointed.

Visiting Battle for a long weekend we decided to go for afternoon tea after receiving a recommendation for this place. On arrival the lady and her partner were so friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea was delicious and to a high standard and was just the right amount of food. They also catered to us doing a vegetarian afternoon tea. We were sat with a beautiful view of the abbey. What made this even more special was the passion was so clear from the owner. She clearly loves her job and this shows in the quality and look of the food. They really were friendly and didn’t rush us and we left smiling. I’d reccomend this place to anyone and would encourage them to visit and support this small business.

vegetarian and gluten free. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone said how stunning the raspberry scones were! We even managed to take advantage of the free wifi and had a friend on FaceTime from New York!! The little details such as the beautiful china cups, saucers and plates, were appreciated by us all, so very pretty. My daughter was unable to attend due to illness but her afternoon tea selection was boxed up for her and thoroughly enjoyed later. I was very grateful for this as she was so disappointed not to be able to attend. We came on a Saturday and the cafe was obviously extremely popular as was full up with lots of happy people. Will definitely stop by again next time I’m in Battle.

My family & I always love coming to the tearoom but during lockdown we have have ordered the afternoon tea takeaway service. The food is delicious especially the raspberry scones. We had a lovely afternoon tea on Saturday for my daughter’s 7th Birthday the food was amazing. I always have a gluten-free afternoon tea & it tastes so good. Thank you xx

We pre booked a visit over the phone for my girlfriends birthday. The service could not have been any more helpful. They even offered to seat us by the window and put up birthday decorations at no extra cost. We arrived to a warm reception and the table was really nicely decorated. There was a happy birthday banner up as well which was a nice touch The service was great and nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was incredible. All the food felt like it was home made with quality ingredients. Came away feeling full and really enjoyed our visit. Cannot recommend enough. We both had a great time and will be spreading the word.

Found this delightful tearoom whilst looking for somewhere for brunch on our way gone from the coast. Made us lovely bacon sandwiches garnished with delicious potato salad and coleslaw. The owner was so friendly and helpful that it will definitely be a place we return to when we go back to explore the area. Bought some homemade raspberry scones and delicious coffee cake to take home which was beautifully packaged.

Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, pretty decor and china, Battle’s only proper tea room deserves a visit. We had a light lunch consisting of beautifully presented, fresh tasting sandwiches. I recommend the coronation chicken. All cakes and scones baked by staff, the raspberry scones are delicious and a real treat.

Nice little tearooms with views of the abbey. Service is friendly. Painini and coffee were fine but nothing to write home about, I just couldn't quite get over that they were charging £7.50 for a fairly basic sandwich. Cake was soft and tasty.
