Really enjoyed our meal here, we had the nachos for starters followed by enchiladas. Large portions which were very filling. The homemade guacamole’s was delicious.
Unfortunately for us most of the tribe meats were not available but it did not detract from the lovely meal.
Good value for money and the waitress worked very hard to manage the place and even with a couple of difficult customers remained calm and professional.
Can’t wait to return soon.
Definitely suggest booking though as it was full when we went!

Visited the restaurant for the first time last night. Wow, just so lovely and unpretentious! Kim and Lizzy looked after us so well and created a really relaxed environment for us to really enjoy the simply amazing food. All freshly prepared and cooked to order, which meant we waited a little longer, but so worth the wait. I wish I had found it sooner and will be returning.

You know it's going to be a good meal when you look at the menu and you want to try everything on it. I went with the burrito and it was absolutely delicious, and I was so impressed with the portion size. To make the whole experience even better when collecting our food we spoke to the owners who are truly lovely. Delicious food, fantastic menu, great value for money, and lovely owners - I don't know what else you could want when looking for a place to eat. Without question if you're looking for takeaway during lockdown this is the place to go to. Cannot wait for them to open up so we can return and work our way through their whole menu.

My wife had her birthday and in quarantine I had to attempt on doing something special and that would mean an extraordinary take away or delivery.
The delivery was arranged 2 days in advance as I wanted to be sure it would happen on a specific date and time as it involved a meeting from different people around the world. The delivery was on time and the taste as excellent as in the restaurant.
This is most certainly the best restaurant in Bexhill!!!

Visited Sobremesa on Saturday night and everything about it was fabulous! The atmosphere was lovely and cosy, and the food was DELICIOUS. I had the Xinxim curry and it was one of the best meals I’ve had. Plus the two waitresses who were working were so lovely and helpful too! Due to the 10pm curfew there was a lot of pressure on fitting in their bookings in a more reduced time window, but even though there was a bit of a wait on the food we left feeling very happy and wanting to return! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

We ordered a takeaway meal for a special Saturday evening. The food was beautifully wrapped to keep the heat. Paella was wonderful, rasty prawns, squid and mussels. The belly pork is to die for. Our chicken and lamb chop dishes were also very tasty..Portions are very generous. This has to be the best ready cooked meal to be had for miles around. It's already Bexhill's best restaurant. Try it.

Visited on the 2nd day of reopening after lockdown. Booking is essential as tables are limited. Contact between staff & customers is reduced by menus via a QR code & all drinks & food orders being taken at the same time. There waa supposed to be an 1hr & 30 minute turn around, but luckily this was not adhered to as our main courses had not arrived after 90 minutes.
The food was good & filling, they did run out of certain wine though.

Thank you for your visit and for your feedback, we are glad that the food was good for your taste. After 4 months of lock-down, we were fortunate like anyone else to have some sort of normality back into our lives, for a small family business like us it was challenging to survive and stay in business, none of that would have happened without the support of our lovely friends and customers.
As you might know, it was a bit tricky adapting to the new regulations, and on our first week we got busier than expected I have to admit that keeping everyone safe is time-consuming, something we did not see before the re-opening, the reason not only meals were slightly late but also drinks and clearing tables was all to prioritize our compliance and customers safety, so please accept my apology for the late main course, it was purely for safety reasons, however on our first week we have learned and adapted.
We anticipated a 1.5 hrs for each customer to spend while dining and we are still aiming towards the same guidelines to ensure our compliance with safety guidelines.
Our wines are all imported from South America & Europe, few of them are currently not available because of the limitations on Imports due to COVID-19, however, we still have a great selection made available to choose from.
Finally, on behalf of Sobremesa, we wish to thank you for being understanding and for your patience and support, every small participation, repeat visits, and reviews will help us as a small business to stay in service to our great community.

We were in Bexhill to go to the Ministry of Sound concert last week and booked this restaurant for a dinner pre-show. It was a cold, gloomy night but from the moment we walked into this gem of a restaurant we felt so welcome and taken care of by the delightful staff. The prices were reasonable and we tested the cocktails which were good and the red wine was also good. It was the food that really was great and the dishes were generous so arrive with an empty stomach. The menu is imaginative and you can tell by the freshness and quality of the ingredients that the chef really cares about what he is cooking. We eat out a lot and this would definitely rate as a good place to try. We enjoyed it so much we were late for the show!

Having eaten at Sobremesa previously and experienced an amazing culinary adventure we decided to try the Sunday Tapas and it was yet another memorable meal. We were greeted by Malcolm who is not only an incredible chef but a wonderful host. Not being familiar with the Tapas, Juliana, our friendly waitress, recommended the Gambas al Ajillo, Calamres Fritos Berenjenas Fritas and the Champinones al Ajillo all of which were flavoursome and distinctly unique, a great recommendation. We finished off the meal with a Dolce de Leche Cheesecake, which we shared and was another culinary delight. If you haven't already been to Sobremesa already suggest you give it a try, we can't wait to go back again!!

We had the Moqueca de camarao and Coxinha de frango for shared starters and then I had Xinxim de Galinha for main. The food was absolutely incredible! We went on a Sunday and only one chef was in the kitchen so all compliments to them! Kim, our waiting person, was very attentive and made the best mojitos I've ever had. Really recommended going to this restaurant if you are in Bexhill. Incredible tasty food and really good service. You feel you get real value for money.

We have been exploring the brunch menu throughout january. It is such good value and the flavours of all dishes are different and come together so well. It nice to try south amercian food whilst not having to pay the earth and it has inspired us to pay for the much more pricer dinner menu at some point.
Great that the restaurant takes dogs too
Good service although she has to work really hard as the only member of staff

We have had several takeaway meals from this restaurant in the past 2 months and I cannot fault anything about the food or the service. We have had different meals and they have all been superb, the portions are large and well worth the money, especially the paellas which are outstanding. The owners are very friendly, approachable and willing to accommodate special requests. We would highly recommend this restaurant and plan to carry on enjoying meals from there.

Sobremesa literally means over the table. This is exactly the type of food that is for sharing, & for socialising over. We didn't even realise this quaint little restaurant existed, yet it's been silently racking up positivity for 4 years! The two food places either side are lit up brightly from the outside, yet Sobremesa is lit up on the inside. Bright, south-american vibe, sun statues, Latin & Mexican rugs & pictures around the walls, pretty coloured lights around the ceiling & walls. Vibrant, welcoming, & colourful. We were served by a friendly, warm girl who talked at length about our dietary requirements. She recommended a dish, & also explained that as the food is served fresh, we could remove bits. Our meal was incredible. Him: Mushroom Tostada; wild mushroom with huacatay, cilantro, & garlic on grilled avocado,
Me: Caldo Verde; Creamed potato soup with kale, toasted garlic & grilled chorizo (no chorizo on mine, as vegan!), served with freshly baked bread.
Him: Blossom Moqueca; Banana blossom & palm hearts braised with vegetables, in a Baihan tangy coconut sauce, with cumin, cayenne pepper, coriander, tomatoes & shredded green beans.
Me: Tamales; Corn polenta cake with braised jackfruit teriyaki steamed in a banana leaf, served with Chipotle & Picco de Gallo.
Me: Tarta De Lima Y Grosella; Plant based refreshing lime, basil & blackcurrant deconstructed tart, served with fruit of the season. This cake is paleo, dairy free, refined sugar free & gluten free. We will definitely go back, & I've recommended it to so many people already! If you get along there, visit the loo! Such a character filled place. I simply adore them all! The lady & gentleman who own it are chatty too, & their knowledge of the food is so interesting!

What a lovely find. Booked that place after a couple of recommendations and I wasn't disappointed.
We arrived and were welcomed by the lovely waitress Tim, she was very professional and made us feel comfortable.
Our food was preorder and still they welcomed few changes in our choices.
Food arrived a bit late but was worth every minute of waiting, I got the Fajita which was actually legendary as the website says, I asked for some extra prawns on my Fajitas which they gladly did without extra charge.
The cocktails were to die for, I forgot when was the last time when I had a real good one.
Finally I was really taken by the surprising birthday dessert with a candle and staff singing happy birthday.
This restaurant became my favourite. I highly recommend.
