First time eating out since lockdown and stumbled across this newly opened restaurant. Very friendly welcome from Katie (even with a mask), she explained the days specials and gave us time to look over the menu. We decided on the Special which was ribs, they were amazing, the meat just fell off the bones, and it came with fries, bbq beans and coleslaw. We also had sides of halloumi fries, onion rings and mac & cheese, it was all lovely. I was glad I had a little bit of room for desert and I had the Apple Brown Betty and custard, which was really tasty. There was an excellent selection of dishes and I was really impressed with the amount of gluten free options. Overall we will definitely be visiting again.

My wife and I came by for dinner and we were not disappointed. Having come down to Bexhill to visit my mother-in-law for the past 10 years I wish we had found this restaurant sooner! I personally did not expect much, Bexhill is a small town, and we have been to the US many times having enjoyed proper American smoked meats, but my god I was blown away! We were seated by Kate who welcomed us with a warm lovely smile, and the decor in the place was fantastic. Most US themed restaurants in the UK tend to appear tacky, but Bentley's have smashed the decoration, making us feel like we were right back in Texas!
We were amazed by the choices on the menu, so much so I had to ask for recommendations! Cristal was able to answer some questions we had about some items on the menu showing the staff know it very well, and when she informed us of the specials for the evening, she made the BBQ pulled pork add-on sound so good i couldnt resist! I opted to add the pork to a burger and my wife had a burger with the house signature sauce of bourbon glaze.
Whilst waiting for our food we enjoyed the fantastic music and watched Cristal serve other tables and you can really see she enjoys her job, which is always lovely to see when coming out for a meal. Her conversation did not feel forced either, something that is a pet peeve of mine when coming out for a meal, she genuinely made us laugh and feel very welcome.
Our food arrived promptly and my god the portions!! They definitely hit the US size portions on the head! I definitely made the right choice with the pork as it was fantastic and juicy, and the fries were crispy and fluffy, and even though I was extremely full, I could not resist having some of my wife's burger with the house glaze, it was outstanding! I never thought such a little quaint town could OUTDO any american BBQ glaze we have had before!!
All in all we had a fantastic evening and hate that we haven't come before! Special mention to the bourbon glaze, decor, music, and staff, especially Kate with her welcoming and Cristal for her outstanding service and recommendations! Me and my wife cannot wait to come back!

Wow, our experience at Bentleys Smokehouse was so enjoyable. From Katie, the front of house host to the whole ambience was very relaxing. The Sunday roast was cooked to perfection, the cocktails (The Sweet Shop) totally recommended. The Brownie & Marshmallow Sundae shared but very enjoyable. Will definitely be going back.
Plenty of hand sanitisers available and all staff wore face Masks.

There were some positives but too many negatives I’m afraid.
POSITIVES
Good atmosphere
Attentive service
NEGATIVES
Expensive cocktails containing hardly any alcohol at all.
Expensive Fajitas with just a few traces of meat.
Awful slaw with a very unpleasant artificial taste.
Expensive desserts which were full of squirty cream out of a can and little else.
A new restaurant like this should be working very hard to impress rather than making a huge profit at the expense of its clients.
Regretfully I am unable to recommend this establishment.

Since opening around 4 years ago it has gone from the place to eat to more hit and miss. Choose a fillet steak and you can’t go wrong. Choose a burger and prepare for disappointment.
Such a shame, I’d expect a burger in a smokehouse as it’s called to be out of this world, after all it’s a place that specialise in meat right?
Sadly it’s not the case. The burgers are very below average. No moisture nor flavour. The sauces they have on the side are overly sweet and sickly. I wonder if they are there to give the meat more flavour, or disguise the fact there is none?
Masks, It’s awful that staff have to wear them. Waitress or waiter, I understand it must be awful. Anyone in a customer service role needs to learn that they have to work extra hard at being friendly being their smile is covered. Miserable eyes and body language is not a pleasure to see.this is how myself and friends felt about the staff in bentleys.
Customer service needs to be and a very high standard, especially where not everyone is going out all the time anymore. We need our experiences to reflect that or we just don’t go back.
I will not go back in here unless a good friend tells me it’s wonderful again. For now I shall not bother.

My girlfriend and I visited Bentley's Smokehouse for dinner. The staff were warm, welcoming, attentive and chatty. The place looks great; it's clean, well decorated and the background music creates a lovely ambiance to fit the theme of the restaurant. This is all a massive shame though, because based on the quality of the food, we won't ever be going back.
We both ordered a burger with a side of chilli cheese fries and we were so underwhelmed by what arrived that it was a complete mood killer. We had anticipated coming for so long. It should have been so great but it just wasn't.
The patties in the burger are not freshly made. They look and taste identical to the frozen beef burgers you get from a supermarket. This was hugely disappointing because when you come to an American style BBQ restaurant, you expect that everything should be made fresh. Every single low cost chain restaurant in the country serves better quality burgers for half the price. Kebab shops serve better quality burgers. Greasy spoon cafés serve better quality burgers.
The chilli cheese fries were average too. Not vile or inedible but I have no interest in having them again because the chilli tastes like it was made on a similar budget to the burgers. It has all the ingredients that it should, but it just tastes cheap. It's what I would have made in food technology class when I was 14. Chilli from a can is more exciting and I'm not exaggerating.
I'm not ragging on the chefs. They're clearly doing their best with what they have. A Michelin star chef couldn't make these ingredients taste good.
When there are so many super high quality American themed burger restaurants in Hastings and Eastbourne that serve food at a similar price point, I feel that Bentley's should be ashamed of themselves for what they give to a customer. The menu is full of beautiful ideas, why destroy them with Iceland quality ingredients?

Celebrating a birthday we tried Bentleys Smokehouse for the first time. Nice to see something a bit different. We ordered the £30 Deluxe BBQ which was sufficient for 2 people as we would have struggled to eat one each. It was a mixture of different meats, chips and sauces and was very tasty. The key lime pie was pleasant enough. I had a passionfruit mojito and for £8.50 would have expected a bigger glass and less ice. Service was attentive and the restaurant had a congenial atmosphere. We will visit again.

We really enjoyed our visit to Bentley's Smokehouse last night. We were at first hesitant as it seemed it would appeal to a younger clientele than ourselves but the staff were so welcoming and the food delicious that we are very glad we gave Bentley's a try. Loved the Halloween decorations. Also very impressed with the hygiene and distancing measures put in place.

Lovely greeting and Was seated quickly, the restaurant itself is really great to look at with lovely decor and a great ambience.
The food choice was good, we didn’t ask if they had a separate kids menu but it wasn’t shown on their main one.
The staff were all very attentive and friendly, particularly our main server ‘Katie’ who seemed to also have a great sense of humour. Our drinks order was taken quickly and they arrived soon after.
The food was plentiful and truly delicious. We couldn’t actually eat it all as the portions were so good 😊!
We was brought our bill quickly after asking for it and was pleased to leave a tip.
We will definitely be back and really recommend this restaurant to others. Well done bentleys smokehouse. X

I chose this restaurant via Google based on the location, menu, and price and was not disappointed! We were looked after by Stavros who was charming and attentive. The menu is a vast choice of BBQ style offerings catering to every taste including our veggie friend all at reasonable prices. I had the burger which was delicious. The music had a familiar slightly country theme and had us all singing along. I will look forward to going back when I can try the tempting cocktails on offer, I was driving this time. Stavros and his team have a gold mine there, he definitely made four ladies very happy!

A friend of mine said "nobody goes to Bexhill-on-Sea" to eat, when I told him I'd booked Bentley's Smokehouse - how wrong he was! The service was warm and friendly, right from the start, and the four of us enjoyed the music, drinks and food as it all came along in good time. The staff seemed to be really enjoying themselves and that’s a real bonus when you're out for an evening and wanting to enjoy yourselves too. I can't rate Bentley's highly enough and it represented great value for money and a great evening out. I would certainly go again and have no problem recommending it to others too.

Maybe we had high expectations because of loving Bentley's Steak House and maybe we were forgetting we weren't in Texas anymore, but this smokehouse let us down big time. First, it was busy and very noisy, so not a good start for a family meal. The house BBQ sauce on the ribs had no soul, no depth, the bold taste just wasn't there. The meat did fall off the bones, but the smoke taste was lacking something. Pulled pork tacos sounded great, but the pulled pork itself was dry, tasteless and the BBQ sauce not mixed in long enough to bring moisture. As for the burgers, we didn't try them as there were no options for buns other than brioche. No self respecting burger sits well in a sweet brioche bun which self destructs when the burger juice hits it. The steak was of the quality we are used to from Bentley's, no complaints there. Mentioning the dry pulled pork to the waiter got no sympathy, and yelling over the noise from tables on the level above the front window tables where we were seated made it hard to hear his reply as the noise was amplified by the window glass, but basically we were told it was a bank holiday weekend night (6:15 on the Thursday) and a kind of 'what did you expect' look when we said it didn't compare to any smokehouse we had been to in the US. Not a good experience, not going back.

I was visiting Bexhill on business and was looking for a place to have dinner. Bentley's came highly recommended and I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. Elise and Neyire were very attentive and food was delivered promptly and accurately. The platter I had gave me a taste of the best that Bentley's had to offer. Will be back again next time I'm down here - there is so much on the menu that I'm looking forward to trying.

A great restaurant, with a really good choice of food. We went for burgers as they had a special offer on when we went. I had a chilli burger and it was really nice and my husband had a peanut butter one, he said it was the best burger he has had. The staff were helpful and they were wearing masks and there was hand sanitizer stations which was good. We will definitely go back, and would recommend this place for a nice night out.

Came here for a celebration with my husband and 3 year old. We were shown to our table, and given menus. The place is nicely decorated and the tables are well spaced. After a few minutes we were asked for our drink orders, and our server was shocked when we had to ask for a childrens menu? Replying "oh, okay yes I suppose". I ordered a mocktail, and was invited to order another as it was Happy Hour. I did that, but then noticed the happy hour deal was 2 cocktails for £15, a bit steep as one mocktail cost £6.50! I asked about this and she then said she wasn't sure about the deal, so I cancelled my second one. My husband and I ordered the nachos sharer to start, and then fajitas each for main. Both courses incredibly disappointing. Guac and salsa are incredibly easy to make, but what Bentleys used was awful processed cheap stuff. You could see where they had been squeezed from a bottle, completely tasteless. I asked 2 different servers if they were made fresh, both looked sheepish and said they were bought pre made. The cheese used on both dishes was clearly pre-grated and bagged mozzarella. My sons meal was nothint special, just 2 southern fried chicken tenders and chips. Save yourself a small fortune and make the food yourself at home, much better and much more easily and faster. I note the other recent bad reviews are recent too, maybe this is recent menu/kitchen changes, you're better than this Bentleys.
