Everything you want in a modern English pub is here in Pevensey...a lovely welcome a nice selection of ales and food, but the staff are just delightful...yes some could say it's a wee bit pricey, but it is truly worthwhile...the quality and portions are very good...lovely beer garden to boot...

We stopped in here for lunch after visiting Battle Abbey Battlefield and before visiting Pevensey Castle. The food is lovely and not overly priced, its very cosy too. I imagine it would get very busy in peak season.

Refreshing change to be welcomed and receive great service in a local pub environment. Relaxed feel and atmosphere enhanced by great tasty food. Jackie was born to be in customer service. Well done kitchen and front of house, keep up the great work.

We had dinner here on Saturday night And enjoyed a lovely meal. The staff were really friendly and extremely welcoming. We had a very pleasant evening and would defiantly return again. The reason we have marked it down to 4 stars is that although the food was lovely, the chips served with the meal tasted like the frozen oones you... More

We were recommended to come to this pub by our B@B hosts in Pevensey. We walked down through the village and castle grounds to get to it which was quite spooky by torchlight! The menu was not extensive but we enjoyed our meal and a very good bottle of red wine, and the waitress/barmaid was friendly, as were a couple... More

Just popped out for a lunch time snack! Our Daughter passed here last week and commented on how busy it was so we thought we would give it a try. Excellent. We will visit again.

We arranged a surprise family meal for my husband's 70th birthday with 19 family members of all ages. We were treated royally: the attractive long table, the very reasonably priced, plentiful and delicious food pre-selected by us very efficiently served by smiling, friendly waitresses. The ambiance was delightful and a great evening was had by all (aided by a little... More

Quaint old pub just next to Pevensey castle. Good selection of beers. Quality home cooked food. Pretty garden if the weather is good.
