Definitely the best restaurant in Essex in term of quality and atmosphere. Went to Monti last friday on my Birthday. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcoming by the staff. Had a lovely drink to the bar and continued the evening at the table....Food was simply superb, starting from clams and mussles sautee and than mixed grilled fish, passing by the home-made dessert. Everithing extremely fresh and flavoring. In this restaurant you can breathe the magical italian atmosphere and be cuddled by the kindness of the owner. I couldn't expect more from this experience. Thank you so much Enrico the Head Chef and Enrico Jr the Restaurant manager. We will come back very soon. Regards. Enrico.More

Great food, great venue, great staff, great value, what else do you want when you go out for a meal the place has changed its name from the Lemon tree, so if you ever went there then you must go back I will be amazed...if any one is disappointedMore

Overall a disappointing meal; the starter was probably the best part but was very small. The mains took a long time to arrive (understandable given how busy it was but still seemed an excessively long time) and were ok apart from a long strand of...hair in one of the dishes. We also had a bottle of wine which was drinkable but at £85 for a shared starter, 2 mains and a bottle of wine, overpriced and we won’t be returning.More

Best pizzas in Essex. As simple as that. I’ve been to the restaurant once or twice and it’s never failed to impress me. The restaurant feels like that of an Italian home, and the waiters make you feel apart of the family!

Disgusting food. Dirty plates. Bland and Tasteless Reheated food. Best to avoid as I will be doing in the future and visiting other much better Italian restaurants in Southend!

Visited with my wife for our anniversary. Awful food quality, will not be returning. They seemed to be very off with us despite spending over £100 for two. AWFUL.

This is a real Italian restaurant, not a typical formulaic version. Best genuine Italian cuisine in the area; great family-run atmosphere. Try it !

I love Italian food and the food here is absolutely delicious, no doubt about it. However, we went on a very busy Saturday evening. Too busy. The tables were crammed in, and that’s no reference to previous social distancing, this would of been tight tight...even before we got used to ‘space’. The staff could barely squeeze by. I did ask for a table to moved and begrudgingly it was. It’s really brightly lit and because of the volume of people, really loud. I’m not sure if there weren’t enough staff that night, I appreciate with the current situation sometimes it is indeed tricky, they were all working so hard rushing about and being polite but service took ages and I had to ask 3 times before a drink actually arrived. Maybe we’ll try mid week as I say the food was yummy, just tooooo busy.More

We have visited this restaurant twice now (spending £250 over two visits) as a couple and while the food was nice we felt that they wanted large tables only? On our first visit we were seated on a small table behind the kitchen door in...an almost empty restaurant. We moved to another small table away from the kitchen door on that occasion. On our second visit early Friday evening, to be fair we had not booked but after several minutes checking the table reservations by the staff we were seated at the far end of the tented annex by ourselves even though the main restaurant was almost empty and remained empty by the time we left. We felt ostracised and being treated like social lepers I wanted to walk out but stayed because we were hungry and just wanted to eat. When we mentioned it to a waitress about were we had been sated it feel on deaf ears we mentioned it to another waiter low and behold they seated other diners close to us however, four diners got up and moved to the main restaurant because they objected to be seated at the far end of the tent. Really disappointed because we were hoping to make this our local go to restaurant however, feeling our custom was not welcomed we doubt that we will return anytime soon.More
