Went here for afternoon tea, what a delight, sandwiches were lovely & so fresh, cakes were all delicious, lovely scone & a large strawberry covered in white chocolate, our waitress was so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, a perfect place to take someone for a special treat, you will not be disappointed, i will definitely be back 🌝xxx

We thought we would try the restaurant as a tester for a future family celebration. The starter choice was reasonable and my seared mackerel turned out to be smoked mackerel served warm. We all had the roast lamb which we were assured would be served 'pink'. This turned out to be overcooked and tough. The gravy served separately as requested... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are disappointed that you were not happy with your lunch on this visit and have taken note of your comments. However, it is unfortunate that the issues addressed in your review were not raised with our staff members at the time. Had this been the case, we would have... More

After a walk along the front decided to have a cream tea here, coffee not tea though. The waitress said there would be a 15 minute wait, we accepted that. She brought out the cutlery, my folk had someone's breakfast on it, was sent back but not replaced. The coffee arrived, ten minutes later the scones with jam and butter... More

Thank you for your review of your visit. Our scones are cooked to order, hence the short wait. Because they are served straight from the oven, the dough is still very light and could be misconstrued as being ‘doughy’ whilst still hot. If you did not receive the cream, we are very sorry – this would have been a genuine... More

Visited for a friend's birthday celebration on Sunday lunchtime. Lovely bright day, so 10 of us sat outside on the deck until we were called to our table. Food was good as expected as was the service. Overall a great chilled afternoon.

Been to this hotel about four times, manly for the fireworks which take place in October and November. Very clean, lovely bedrooms and a wonderful breakfast. Don't know about the evening meals as we always eat in Southend.

I booked the restaurant for eighteen people with much trepidation as we had never eaten or stayed here before . Looking back now I wonder why I was ever worried . My wife and I arrived and were shown to our ' quiet table for two ' as previously arranged , only to be greeted by sixteen other family members... More
