I’m always looking for a good authentic Italian. Since my favourite closed I’ve been struggling to find a good one. I think I found a good one. This was a takeaway but I couldn’t fault it, it was both tasty and plentiful, full of flavour...and just really good. Server on the desk really friendly too.More

Three friends made a return visit after a lovely meal here before Christmas We were not disappointed The waiter recognised us and all the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great meal Fab starters on the 2 course menu...including mushroom with pâté and mussels….. wonderful On the mains the chicken, pork & Risotto all beautifully cooked and clean plates resulted So many desserts we were spoil for choice but ended up with cheesecake of the day and cherry panna cotta and tiramisu….. all delightful We were not hurried and enjoyed a leisurely coffee and tip was at diners discretion which I like and not automatically added that I hate I suggest you come here SOONMore

We visited the restaurant with my family on christmas eve and we had the best time. The food was delicious ,fresh and so many option to choose from. The staff so friendy and warm welcoming! We definetely be back soon !

Husband & I just got home. Had gone to il Mundo with a party of around 18 people. 2 course 'golfers'menu at £22.00 a head. Husband ordered mussel starter followed by the fish of the day which was Salmon. Mussels were very nice but the...Salmon was over cooked, dry and over seasoned. Carrots were OK but the potatoes & broccoli/cabbage were soggy. Not nice to eat. My starter was supposed to be spaghetti cooked in white wine & cream with garlic. However what came out was dry spaghetti covered liberally in garlic. No sauce and so dry & garlicky and I like garlic. Couldn't eat it. For my mine I selected (as a vegetarian), the linguini which was supposed to be spinach, oinion, tomato etc. It had absolutely no flavour at all. Just in case it was me, I passed some round for other people to try. All agreed totally tasteless. I paid as I didn't want to make a fuss as we were in a big group but if I had paid what we felt the food was worth. I would have paid no more than £5 for my food and although I didn't complain as such, it was mentioned but was still charged the full price. ( I had a bowl of Branflakes as soon as I got home as was starving having eaten nothing), and my husband said that his food was worth £12. Very many more restaurants locally that offer much nicer food. Will never go back.More

This restaurant has a good service with excellent food, but the lights are so bright in there! Felt a bit like an after pub takeaway place with them being that bright. They are piercing white, would be nice for a warmer light. Didn't feel cozy...at all! And it was sooo noisy in there! We couldn't have a proper conversation without shouting. The music was very loud and not great, felt a bit clubby. Why do Italian restaurants not play Italian music? Great food but please alter your lighting and music.More

We had a wonderful time from the moment we set foot through the door. The staff were friendly , attentive and genuine. The food was absolutely delicious! The wine was scrumptious. The bill was £170 for 6 adults and 3 kids so really good value...for money too. Highly recommend !More

We went on Friday night with friends for tribute night Tina Turner ,everyone really loved the food and service was very attentive. The music and atmosphere great as well! Will definitely be back for another music night as it was really worth it!

Not such a great time as we’d had before. Maybe just a one off as previous experiences have been good, but the service was dreadfully slow, atmosphere was loud and boisterous (so much so a couple moved tables) not helped by the choice of music...being played, and the food was not great either. Shame.More

This was an amazing restaurant and the 5 of us had the Christmas menu and were not disappointed The mussels, mushroom and Brie generous portions and tasty and hot The soup of the day huge and was a hit The main courses varied and plentiful...and even awkward requests dealt with efficiently When the steak proved too big for one diner they kindly popped in a takeaway box for her dog Now desserts amazing and once again of generous size Coffees/teas provided and nothing too much trouble Then lemonchello on the house Service throughout attentive but not pushy Nothing too much trouble Why the restaurant was 3/4 empty on a Wednesday is a mystery but hey we will be back Go there for a great night outMore

Great fun, good food, reasonably priced and extremely friendly service. The two ABBA girls put their all into the music and the dining crowd participated fully. Not a fine dining experience but a really super and fun night out, thank you.

Used trip advisor for best place to eat in Southend-on-Sea, Il Mondo came out top and I can see why! Exceptional service from start to finish, the food was absolutely amazing and the portions very generous. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming vibe. If we are...ever in the area again, would not hesitate to eat there again!More
