Saturday we visited the restaurant, I had read positive reviews prior to booking. Having had quite a few bad experiences in Southend recently with terrible service and food quality I was quite optimistic of il mondo. When we arrive we were greeted with warm smiles...and enthusiasm. The menu was extensive and full of choices along with the weekly specials. We had the best garlic bread I have ever eaten, our starters and main course were brought out in a timely manner and were EXCELLENT! Out son who is 11 "and very shy" was treated very well and was spoken to directly by each of the servers..thank you for making him feel comfortable. Our glasses were never empty and the 4 deserts were amazing! Pannal cotta was so smooth and creamy..perfectly jiggly.. Overall I'd say a 10/10 evening. Food was excellent, service was great and we went home with extra pasta 😋 We will definitely be coming back for more.More

Can’t praise Il Mondo enough. My girlfriend and I went there last week to celebrate her birthday and the staff made us feel so special. The restaurant is still trying to keep its customers safe from Covid and we both felt very comfortable during our...visit. The food was exceptional, she was even given a little birthday treat when we left. I would definitely recommend visiting this great restaurant to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. Thanks to all of you at Il Mondo for your hard work, great food and lovely atmosphere. We are looking forward to visiting you again soon.More

Visited with my daughter and her 3yr old daughter after long, tiring day at Adventure Island. Staff so lovely and welcoming. Good sized portion for toddler and plenty of options. We had the antipasto, which were delicious, followed by (daughter) roasted sea bass - it...was HUGE! Surrounded by veg and cooked to perfection. I had the scallops ravioli which was sublime. Staff were brilliant. Would def visit again as menu was extensive and interesting.More

We've been twice now in recent weeks and also ordered a lot of pizzas for an event at the tennis club we play at. Everything we've had has been excellent and is not often that all 5 of us, including our three teenage boys, agree...on that. The food is very fresh and very well flavoured. The wild boar ravioli and veal tbone were my choices and both were cooked perfectly. The pasta and pizza were excellent and the garlic cheese bread superb. My wife shared a sea bream and Dover sole with her mother and again both were delicious, the sea bream especially so. Service is friendly and attentive and we will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.More

This restaurant has fast become one of our personal top 5 local places to eat, and definitely No.1 for our special celebrations. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is attentive and friendly and the prices very reasonable for the quality received. All Covid...rules are in place and we felt safe and cared for. Well done !More

We visited the restaurant with our new born baby and niece this week, it was the first time since the lockdown restrictions have eased. The staff have always extremely welcoming in the past and this visit was no exception. The food was superb and we...could not fault the service. In our opinion one of the best restaurants in the area.More

We had been a couple of times during gaps in lockdown, always impressed but never wrote a review. This visit was a Wednesday during the hot June weather - sadly not many people. Later we saw that the seafront restaurants were all very busy. We...both had starters - excellent. My wife had the whole sea bass. Terrific - a large piece of fish and I had the skate in black butter - also a very large helping. Everything came complete with vegetables. In summary, food excellent, service excellent and prices including a bottle of house wine very competitive. We cannot rate this restaurant high enough. There are some very good Italian restaurants is Southend and Westcliff; but for food quality and value we rate this the best.More
