I booked a surprise dinner party for my husband's 50th birthday. There were 39 of us in total, including a 2 year old, 2 vegetarians and someone with various food allergies. The food was really, really good and was served to us all at the same time, whilst still hot. The waiting staff were excellent and made us feel really... More

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was great. It is in a suprising location in a small hamlet at the end of a quiet road and we have passed many times on our bikes but never been in, so decided to vist. We were not dissapointed. An excellent selection of dishes with some good twists on... More

Tiny restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Would never have know about it if it wasn't for TripAdvisor. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation. Starters we had duck parfait and cod cheeks, both were beautiful. For main we had the Monk fish Thai curry and Hampshire Pork. The fish was meaty with a lovely creamy Thai curry... More

My husband and I visited The Nook and Cranny recently for a romantic meal. The setting is very quaint and the taxi driver on the way down said that he had families he regularly dropped down who loved the restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and was of a very nice quality. The only thing I would say is this... More

We went for a joint birthday dinner last Friday. Beautiful quaint restaurant with a cozy friendly atmosphere. Amazing service. We had goats cheese and duck parfait to start, both dishes presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. I had the steak for main (which I couldn't finish unfortunately) which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Andy had the pork... More

Informal atmosphere- kids could just run around between courses. This was a god send as the service was slow. Food and wine excellent. Cannot fault it other than roast potatoes served with our roasts seemed to be from two different batches. Some of the groups potatoes tasted much more 'home made' than mine, which weren't as nice. Scallop starter excellent... More

I was the gentleman with the allergy to dairy products who visited the restaurant on 22nd August. I find it very annoying in this day and age that someone, or should I say, some idiot can make comments like "have you never made a mistake" as mistakes like this can lead to illness or even be life threatening. The restaurant... More

We had a wonderful valentines dinner here, food was top notch and I even went to give compliments to the chef, they also use Owtons meat which is always a bonus! Service was a little chaotic and they had a very young girl there whilst she was trying her best should've had some more training in my opinion, if you... More

I had lunch at the nook and cranny with some friends of mine, I ordered the scallops, which were beautiful presented, followed by the roast beef! The Yorkshire pudding was huge and the roast potatoes were simply perfect ( chef must have had a lot of practice), we were however disgusted at the behaviour of the table opposite us, they... More

When adding another guest to our party of seven, we pointed out to the owner that one guest had an allergy to dairy products. He asked us to remind the staff accordingly, which we did.The starters were lovely...Then the main..oh dear. What a huge disappointment. One guest had a hair on her plate which rather put her off eating..They did... More
