This is a traditional country pub, usual mix of wooden tables, low ceilings and beams. The menu is quite varied but the prices are relatively high for what is fairly unspectacular pub food. Service was very slow, and sadly the food wasn't really worth the wait. There's a lot of choice for lunch in the New Forest, so I'd probably... More

We have been driving past this pub for the last 30+ years and never gone in. Well we have now and we were not disappointed. Good food, and friendly staff.

Probably the worst experience i have ever had in a pub. The customer service was a joke and the bar staff obviously have no idea what they are doing. The inside needs a good clean, the beer was tasteless and expensive and I felt like I was getting high on petrol from the passing traffic. Safe to say we won't... More

We stayed nearby for a week with our large dog. There are 2 locals, one is the Swan the other has a different atmosphere and less inside space. We favoured The Swan because we felt genuinely welcome, the food was great and especially because, in the bar, our dog could stretch out without getting in anyone's way! Those running the... More

Impromptu Sunday lunch after a lovely family walk. Staff were welcoming, children's menu was terrific value for money and portions were generous. Great value Sunday lunch served all day.

On arriving without booking we were informed that we might have to wait about an hour for the food (which was fine) we were made very welcome and shown to a table and where our drinks order was taken. On arrival of our drinks we then ordered our food. When the food arrived (which was about 40min after our order)... More

Came here on Saturday 29th April, ordered a ham sandwich which looked worse than something you'd make at home in about 5 seconds, was missing the homemade chutney listed on the menu (when we complained the staff didn't seem phased). Within a few hours of eating I felt awful. It's very embarrassing to ruin my fiance's birthday weekend due to... More

Friendly service in a convenient location for family and pets. Food was good with limited choices for wine by the glass. The dining room had a strange smell though...
