We ate lunch here recently after a group walk, and it was so good (a simple fish salad, but just delicious) that I returned for a dinner to celebrate my birthday. It was outstanding - unfussy and delicious - and the ambiance was relaxed and friendly. Altogether a delightful night out.

Dinner was great. Smoked belly pork was astounding. Mutton was delicious. Blue cheese ice cream a bit out of the ordinary but amazing. Service excellent and ambiance perfect. Recommended by the Chef of a 3 rosette hotel. Absolutely up to the mark

Just had lunch here and the meal was fantastic. We had the Trout and the Haddock to start, which tickled our palettes and intrigued us. Then I had the barley risotto and my husband had the pork. Both were exquisite and so full of taste. However, nothing prepared us for the fantastic desserts: the parfait and the savarin, they were... More

Had a great evening meal at the Riverside on our first venture to the location. Fillet steak was wonderful and didnt require the steak knife that another diner requested. wife was a little underwhelmed by the pheasant starter but other than that was great. Will return

Am I going to find this place is so busy after I post this review that I can't come back. What a welcoming, comfortable, foody place to stay. So relaxing an atmosphere with mine host and hostess doing everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Our little dog was welcome in all rooms and with us if the dog... More

I ate here with my parents for my Dad's birthday, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. The setting is lovely - I understand that the interior has been recently redone - and the staff are warm, friendly and efficient. We ate on a Saturday night, towards the end of service, and they still had all the... More

We had an excellent sunday lunch at the Riverside. Lovely decor, friendly staff, excellent menu and delicious food and wine. Also extremely reasonable bill. We were delighted with the new look Riverside Inn. We also appreciated the use of local produce from Robinsons cider to the Craven Arms beef. Well done to all.

Personally I enjoyed my food, We went for Sunday lunch, everyone else had the normal starter, main, pud. Being coeliac I asked for 2 starters (one as a main) and they were very accommodating. Food and service very efficient for our large party size. After we had Tea/Coffee and the homemade petit fours, I did prefer the old fudge they... More

2nd time we have stayed for bed and breakfast and evening meal. The quality of the food and service is why we went back again. This time it was even better. We stayed in the Hayloft Suite. Loads of character, very clean, nice to have a mini bar. The dressing gowns were a bit old and sad and not really... More

Aymestreys The Riverside Inn and Restaurant is nestled in the Herefordshire countryside, where the Roman Watling Street crosses the meandering River Lugg. Amongst trees where butterflies flutter and dragonflies buzz, The Riverside Inn is an old black and white timbered building full of original features - oak beams, log fires, exposed stone - dating back more than three hundred years. Warm and full of character, this is a typically British inn with an excellent line in local ales, countryside perries and ciders as well as a number of European and New World wines selected as accompaniments to the fine dining food produced by the kitchens award winning chefs. Committed to supporting local producers and suppliers from the rich larder of the surrounding counties, The Riverside Restaurant is proud to be local - even hyper-local in some cases with herbs and vegetables often taken from the inns very own garden - and as such dishes are created to showcase the best seasonal ingredients. Every item is freshly cooked just meters from your table and every taste and requirement is catered for with excellent vegetarian options as well as good choices for coeliacs and non-dairy eaters.
