My family rent Kington youth hostel most years between Christmas and new year. We have been going to the Oxford Arms for a lunch once a year 3 or 4 times now over the past few years. We had another great lunch this year. The food was delicious, home made and good value. We had a very warm welcome even... More

We were staying near Kington and went to the Oxford Arms for dinner on a couple of occasions. We found the owners and staff really friendly and warm, nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and you get plenty of it!

Stopped over with my father while walking the Offa's Dyke path. We found our rooms comfy and the pub lively. Friendly crowd and an extremely dedicated husband-and-wife landlord team. Highly recommended.

I ate here twice during one weekend, and found the food and real ales very good indeed. The bar is very lively and friendly and the restaurant provides a quiet haven to enjoy the excellent food.

We stopped here on the way back from Aberystwyth. We were quite late getting there and really pleased to find somewhere still serving at well after eight o'clock. We had our grandson with us. The barman (owner?) was delightful with him, and very friendly to us. Nothing was too much trouble. We ordered four meals which came quite quickly and... More

We came here after listening to our b and b hostess and we weren't disappointed. It may look a little faded on the outside but the barman was lovely. The chef produced a cracking fish pie and lamb hotpot. The beer on tap was also well received. This was the time to try my 4th sticky toffee pudding.

We enjoyed two very reasonably priced meals - ribs and chips, and salmon. The staff were very friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

Went for an evening meal whist staying in Kington. The food was very fine local and hoe made with an excellent choice of local real ale. Service was a bit slow but there was a bit of a rush on the and the landlord kept everyone informed of any delays or issues.

As the landlord said, "if you want to see what Kington was like in the '70s, come back next year". This is a quirky barn of a building with old fashioned charm, great beer, and a wonderful welcome.

The nearest pub to where we were staying and so pleased that we tried it. The Menu was varied, the food tasty, good quality, plentiful and very reasonably priced. A variety of real ales were on offer when we were there. The owners are great and very good hosts.
