Popped in for a pint and snack after a long walk with the dog. Exceptionally friendly staff and good selection of beers. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food but the menu looks good, however my salt and vinegar crisps were prepared beautifully 👍

Good menu particularly seafood. Friendly staff and a good choice of beers and wines on offer. Dogs are welcome and with plenty of country walks on the doorstep it is highly recommended.

Recommended to the Highdown Inn by a local whilst staying in Totland Bay. Great mix of locals and visitors. Friendly welcome, extensive menu, lots of fresh fish. Food was quick, plentiful and delicious. Wine, coffee etc great. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. Hope it becomes my local if I'm lucky enough to move to the island. Nice setting. I ordered Cauliflower Cheese. The food was nice but the dish only had 4 or 5 stalks of cauliflower and covered in cheese sauce with two thin half slices of ordinary bread. At £9.95 it was overpriced and very poor value. Also service was slow but could live with that. I don't like not leaving positive feedback for... More

We have eaten here many times in the past and always had a good meal. Based on this we chose to go there for Mothers Day Lunch. This time however we were disappointed, the food was middle of the road, the owner's attitude came across as unfriendly.

Ate here a couple of times on a recent visit. Both times the food was excellent such variety and always pipping hot. Steak and chips one of the best I have had. Homely atmosphere friendly helpful staff. Very dog friendly. Will be back when next on the island

We were in the middle of a long circular walk, so this was a welcome mark on the OS map. We had no clue what to expect other than it was conveniently placed for us for a rest before walking up to Tennyson Down and back to Yarmouth. The pub a a good old proper pub. The ales I had... More

We stopped in for a quick bite and where greeted with a warm welcome. after a look at the menu we settled on prawn baguettes but ended up with sandwiches as no baguettes, not a problem. the menu was mainly local seafood and even had a fantastic sounding platter for two including whole lobster. crab, prawns, and much more for...
