I have for long been told of this delightful manor house in the English countryside and today I finally made it on a trip out of London via sights of nearby Canterbury I wish I had done it sooner as it is exemplary. From arrival throughout the service and attention is spot on, highly professional. The luncheon menu was either... More

We had a superb dinner hear almost two and a half years ago, and I question why we haven't been back for so long. We lunched here today and realised what we had been missing. Superb location, brilliant service and absolutely stunning food. Combine these three ingredients and add unbelievable value for money, then you can understand why we questioned... More

Reads rooms are beautifully appointed and very luxurious. We were given one with a fabulous 4 poster. small niggles...a tiny television and no provision of conditioner, nor any found on asking. Most unusual for this price range. Dinner is £60 each for 3 courses with a small forgettable Amuse bouche. The menu could have been the same for at least 30... More

We always enjoy READS. People have told me that they find it too formal but I love the atmosphere. White linen table cloths, fresh flowers, interesting art on the walls. SPecial. And food so lovingly prepared. Yum......

My husband took me here for my 60th birthday, and we stayed overnight. Our evening meal was delicious and surprisingly filling. A dinner of this standard is often delivered with very small portions but this is definitely not the case at Read's. Our room was elegant, spacious and comfortable and breakfast, the next day, was also tasty. I can highly... More

I've been wanting to go to Reads for a long time. We're big foodies so were really looking forward to my birthday lunch treat. We arrived and were greeted by a very welcoming server who asked our name, she was expecting us, and she showed us to the lounge area. We were offered drinks and given the menu. My first... More

Every now and then we splash out on Reed's as our local treat for special ocassions. The restaurant is in a lovely small Georgian manor house with walled gardens. You are seated in a bar area and served drinks while ordering and then you escorted to the dining room and your table. The service is first class and the food... More

We had lunch at Read's Restaurant today. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable. The most stressful part of the whole experience was deciding what to eat! The food was excellent and the presentation was exquisite. I can't believe that I have never dined here before. We will certainly be returning, sooner rather than later.

We stayed 1 night for Valentines day. Greeted warmly on arrival and shown to our lovely room, with a well stocked pantry next door. At dinner we opted for the tasting menu with wines and weren't disappointed. Each course was really delicious and the wines interesting. After a restful night we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and a cheery farewell from Rona.... More

We have known Reads for many years. It has always been a excellent in every way. They deserve to be as busy as they are. We have never been disappointed. Their hard work over many years is admirable.
