Amazing, quaint, querky and some excellent service and good food! My wife and I needed lunch on Easter Saturday and found this gem of a pub. I had a cheese and ham ploughmans (One of the best I have had in years) and my wife had the chicken liver pate. A charming person served us and did all the food!... More
Popped in during the afternoon. Two cask ales available, lovely little courtyard garden which was a sun trap, sure to be gorgeous come the summer. Very friendly as well.
Searched for place to eat on our first day of visit to Sandwich and had almost given up until we found this gem. Toad in the hole was delicious with beautifully cooked veg and the seafood linguine was mouthwatering. The beer was as good as it can get. Lovely friendly service. Relaxed. Interesting antique decor too. And returned two days... More

All three of us (me, my boyfriend and dad) went for the... More
This is a lovely place for a relaxed evening meal; food is very very good indeed and a short fresh every day menu. Chef Gavin can certainly cook. Also there is a choice of local craft beers, craft gins and a small but good wine list. Log burner and comfy seats , btu proper tables to sit at for dining
Had a fabulous meal here. Lovely surroundings, great beer and very good value. A really good place to send an evening. If you are eating you will need to book as it gets busy.
Visited last month as it was a new micropub, which it does well, discovered it did food so planned a return The return was well rewarded by a great meal at a very reasonable price. Had Chicken a la creme - delicious The menu changes over time which is good, there is a good choice of many meat/seafood/veg dishes cooked... More
