We popped in for lunch and were made to feel very welcome. Excellent steak, superbly cooked fish and a great sticky toffee pudding! Friendly and efficient service means we'll be back. It surpassed our expectations.

Our party of six had been on a local tour and decided to go here for lunch but even at 12.15pm it was very busy, we managed to secure a table for all of us and had a really lovely main course reasonably priced .

An ok breakfast was had. Syrup had run out and replaced with honey (which I can't stand) and was not told about this. Slow serving

My husband and I had a lovely lunch in the white lion, nothing too much trouble, great staff especially Bev. Lovely cosy pub, we topped of our lunch with a drink by the open fire, perfect! Couldn't ask for more

Been working hard & had a day off, so decided to come the White Lion to chill out. Staff were charming & the atmosphere was good, especially welcoming too see a nice open log fire as it was quite cold outside for they all ticked the right boxes Well done "I'll be back!" as Arnie would say!

The White Lion has been described as a gastro-pub. I never really know what that means and I didn't let it put me off! Glad I didn't, we went because it's a Marston's pub so does good beer. The food is not as pretentious as that 'gastro pub' description might imply, but the dishes are well thought out and superbly... More

We had a poor experience here in general. The service was not very attentive at all and the food was even worse. The duck starter was a joke at £8 - two, tiny skewers of duck with cold noodles and carrot peelings. The burgers had undercooked bacon in them and too much cheese which was too greasy. It was a... The only reason this place hasn't got a 1 star terrible vote is because 4 of the 6 in the group were meat eaters and enjoyed their food. However !! My husband's pizza was forgotten from the order (was apologised for) and my food was truly terrible. The only gluten free veggie option was titled "salad with caramelised carrot" -... More

Called in for lunch and despite being very busy the team couldn't do enough for us. Always a warm friendly welcome, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, great value. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We visited the White Lion in Tenterden between Christmas and New Year for lunch with friends. We arrived into a lovely warm pub with a roaring fire and were lucky enough to be able to sit in the fireside armchairs. The young man behind the bar was knowledgable about the local beers we wanted to try and even offered to... More
