Maybe just unlucky as the reviews on here seem to show they are a very consistent business. However when we visited we weren't made to feel at all welcome. More like outsiders. Beer was ok. Food looked good. Although we didn't stay long as felt uncomfortable

Very friendly and a proper 'local', lots of regulars. Good German food (and schnapps!) and in winter they do mulled wine with a shot of Amaretto and a piece of Stollen (can't be beaten on a cold day!). Can get very busy during sports events, big screens. There is a back door so is accessible for wheelchairs, and have been... More

Popped in for a drink before we headed off to a restaurant. Very friendly and welcoming place. Had a nice beer and there were free tables as it was only 5pm. One of those really nice old fashioned places where they still believe in customer service with a smile. I would recommend a visit.

Never fails to deliver value for money and hot, filling food! Best place in Whitstable for German sausage and chips with a pint! Great family run establishment too- keeping it local.

Visited several pubs in Whitstable but found this to be the busiest by far with a great atmosphere. The fact that the rugby was on tv was a big factor but this wasn't the only pub showing it.

This pub is soooo old school, its almost brilliant. So fed up of shiny, sparkling pubs. This one is how they used to be, without the sawdust. Brilliant food and so fantastically dog friendly. You may not get it first time but after the second, third, etc, you certainly will. Locals/regulars very friendly

Nice but small, football was on which meant it was packed. Good selection of german beers but the real star I the schnitzel which is cooked to perfection and has the most delicious sauce with it. It's a very large portion! I couldn't finish it.
