Waddington is a lovely Village with three great restaurants, all serving great local food and very good beer. All three have seating outside, so on a nice day well worth a visit to Waddington. Lancashire at its best, enjoy.

This place remains a quite splendid old village pub. The smart interior retains the original four rooms, the staff are wonderful and there’s a great atmosphere with beer to match. The centre of activity is the front bar where there are large scrubbed topped tables that seem to encourage people to share the space and chat. A selection of newspapers... More

Only found this little gem of a pub on a wander round the village. It's a beautiful old building as are all the pubs in Waddington. Lovely, friendly landlady. We had already eaten but wish we hadn't as the menu sounded lovely. Can't wait to come back and eat here.

Called in on a Monday lunchtime, not really that hungry so ordered 4 starters and a bowl of chips to share. All the starters were really good and good portions. Ended up being a very tasty full lunch and all for £40 with 1 1/2 wines and 2 beers included. Highly recommend this with the lovely open fires. Just a... More

The lower had recently undergone a change of management but any concerns about how we would be catered for were soon dispelled. Ollie was a tremendous host. There were ten in our party for a christmas dinner. We were allocated a cosy room on the right to ourselves with a roaring fire and xmas decorations. It was a recently refurbished... More

Booked a table at the Lower Book for Sat. 11th. Lively pub and atmosphere. We were housed in a room behind the bar warmed by an open fire. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice beer - locally sourced with choices including Bowland and Moorhouses. Food excellent. Starters of scallops; prawns with chilli sauce and mini sausages. Mains sea bass; duck and... More

Awful service and average food. Came here with some of my friends for a nice meal and night out. After waiting for 10 minutes in the bar area with nobody asking us if we needed any help, we were eventually pointed to a table and then LEFT for another 30 minutes without menus or any kind of service. I eventually... More

Came here for lunch to meet up with visiting family and will definitely be making a trip back. What a lovely friendly pub. We were greeted with a cheery welcome and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Between us we a selection of soup and sandwiches which were delicious. It was a cold dreary day but the fires were going.... More
