I was visiting my son in Alnwick and on the Sunday we went over to the Black Swan for a meal and my son to watch the football on the TV! Myself,Don and his girlfriend ordered the food and found it to be great value for money and delicious! Also they had the bottles of fruit cider that I love... More

Popped in here for a drink during our first visit to Alnwick and were not disappointed. Full of history, good selection of drinks and could sample a few before you buy. We did not eat so cannot comment on the food, but would recommend for a drink and would come back if ever we were in the area

My wife and myself called in for Sunday lunch, I went to the bar and was met by a lovely young lady behind the bar. Asked for 2 lunches and 2 cokes witch she brought over to our table with the menu. We both decided to have the roast lamb, it arrived 10mins after we ordered, well presented. Sadly the... More

Decent enough bar for a couple of pints. They serve meals as well however as we did not order food or notice others eating I can't really comment on this. That said the staff were friendly, the prices reasonable and the beer good. Worth giving it a go.

We were searching for somewhere dog friendly for lunch and came across the Black Swan. A very warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar, the pub dog Cole came over to play with our pup Jasper, and we ordered our food. Everything about the food was great, soups and pate starters were spot on, and the hunters chicken... More

Food is delicious, well presented, above and beyond your average pub food, its 'Fab' the staff are attentive and 'happy'....we have eaten there now three or more times for different occasions and never been disappointed. Food is superb.

We piled in to this pub on New Year's Day for lunch- two families of 4. As far as i could see there were only two people on duty even though the place was busy , but they were welcoming, friendly and attentive. We felt immediately relaxed. We were served quickly, the food was not only really tasty but the... More

After a wander around Alnwick on a cold Monday morning, this little establishment seemed the perfect spot to provide a respite from the temperature. We were greeted by a friendly bar girl who served us at table, rather than us having to go to the bar as I would've imagined. We were also attended to the resident black labrador puppy,... More

An ancient and historic pub, where Robbie Burns once slept, offering a warm Northumbrian welcome and great local food - try our fabulously fresh fish and chips, or delicious beef sourced from a farm just down the road.Service with a smile and a relaxed and comfortable meal waits for you - there's been an inn on this site for around 600 years so why not call in and take a break - we serve food from 12 noon until 9 pm seven days a week.
