Though the staff and setting were lovely, the limited lunch time menu was cut even shorter when one dish wasn't available. The starter was average at best and the mains did come it was nicely set but the burger was mediocre and the fish came with a sauce that I certainly couldn't stomach. For a pricey lunch, it simply wasn't... More

We visited this place for lunch on a Saturday during a visit to Northumberland, having previously made a reservation. The restaurant is in one of the weirdest places that we have eaten, being in a large tree house! However, location and ambiance will only take you so far and I afraid that this place is seriously let down by the... More

My family and I have visited the Treehouse for meals may times since it has been opened and never had a bad experience until now...... I was taken for lunch as a birthday treat from my mother and we could not have been more disappointed. We booked for 13:00 and still had no food by 14:00. What finally arrived was... More

Our last full day in Northumberland so booked lunch at the Treehouse. Despite the need to duck and dive storm Doris we were greeted warmly by both staff and a roaring log fire. Great lunch time menu including great children's choice, great cocktail menu and excellent friendly service from 'she's really funny' Liz. Highly recommended.

I attended the restaurant on the evening of Feb 16th with family and children. There were a mixture of meat eaters and vegetarians. The dinner menu is small with a limited number of choices. The proportion of vegetarian choices to meat/fish choices was as expected (two veggies choices for starters, one veggie choice for main). The meat eaters were very... More

Great cafe, lovely setting. Cute, little wooden hut with outside seating for warmer weather. Drinks and cakes all very nice. My only comment would be: why paper plates and cups? Just seemed like 'spoilt for a ha'porth of tar'.

Note this is a great venue. The food however was junior master chef level and im not exaggerating. With a good chef this place would excel.

I love this place. Great location, atmosphere and fayre. Good wine selection and menu covers our tastes to a tee. Starters were a little on the small side, but that's probably a good thing because then there was more room for mains!! Was a little chilly when we first arrived, but once we were seated and began to eat and... More

Description
The Treehouse is one of the most magical and unique restaurants to be found anywhere in the world. It’s high up in the treetops, with a roaring log fire in the centre of the room and trees growing through the floor. Most importantly, the locally-inspired food is delicious. Always featuring local fish and seafood, meats from Northumberland’s farmlands and other regional specialities, the Treehouse Restaurant menus highlight local quality, taste and change throughout the seasons. There’s a great wine list, a good range of beers and regular live music. For a family dining experience that you’ll all enjoy, a great night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two, there’s nowhere quite like it. We always recommend booking ahead for lunch or dinner.
