Visited last summer: great tearoom in a beautiful and remote spot in the upper Coquet valley. A very welcome sight for walkers after a day in the hills. Sad to say, I understand it has now closed.

I stopped in briefly with my fiancée and the owner was amazingly kind to us. I didn't get to enjoy any of their food but the welcome, warm and truly human service to fellow walkers and travellers is surely incomparable.

Friendly and charming hosts, delicious cakes and a good cuppa in a stunning location. What more can you ask for. A definite stop if you're in the area.

We "popped" up to the Tea rooms for a spot of lunch. Proper home cooked food, in an amazing unspoiled surroundings. Service was fantastic, and friendly, lunch was lovely, and great value for money. We'll be returning next time we're in Northumberland. Can't wait

After a lovely walk through the Cheviot hills, this tea room is a great place to stop off for a cuppa. Even though it is way out in the sticks it is a very popular with walkers, mountain bikers and visitors just wanting to view the beautiful scenery. I was lucky as I managed to get the last bowl of... Lovely area, fantastic views. Really friendly tea room, with open fire. We popped in for a bowl of homemade soup before we headed back home. Reasonable prices, definitely worth a drive up. We will be back in the summer

After a 'challenging' day on Windy Gyle, eight of us, all soaking wet and very cold, landed on this place ten minutes before closing time. The hosts seemed completely unfazed and supplied us with huge pots of tea and coffee and the freshest, tastiest fruit scone I have ever had. There were no complaints from the others with their various... More

Visited the tea room whilst we were staying at their Deerhunters Lodge. The best fruit scones ever - fantastic friendly service and great home made produce. Just what is needed at the end of a lovely walk in the Cheviots. We will be back!!

Great setting, start or end a walk here. Note opening hours 11.00-16.00 Wed - Sun, shut Monday's and Tuesdays. I have parked beyond Barrowburn and walked the Border Ridge along Windy Gyle, not many finer walks in the Cheviots or anywhere for that matter, then finish here for good home made food and tea having expended lots of calories.
