Lovely food and welcome! We enjoyed Cumberland sausages and mash with perfectly cooked vegetables and gravy that was absolutely delicious! We took our very large dog too and he was welcomed by our hosts and locals alike. We were provided with dog treats and water for the dog which was a great touch. Will return when back up this way... We were driving back home to Newcastle and decided to have a Quick beer at The Plough, Mitford. The parking was good. A friendly welcome with nice atmosphere. Real ale taster was offered, and we enjoyed a quiet beer outside. Prices were less than we are used to. Would certainly recommend and look forward to a return. Thanks.

Went for Sunday lunch, felt a bit strange when we walked in as heads just turned and looked at us, seems a meeting place for the locals, not for strangers popping in. We were served drinks as soon as we sat down and given menu board but after 15 mins we has to approach staff to give food order even... More

Visited for Sunday lunch, met with a warm friendly welcome. Choice of starters and roast beef, lamb or chicken, we had the beef which was ok for the price, £8.50. Bar has a small selection of "real ales", I was given a taster of each before making a choice. Service was prompt and friendly and portions adequate.

We wanted to ascape the xmas routine and find a nice country pub for a nice lunch. Lasagne and excellent fish and chips..beer selection good (although I tend to prefer 4.5 to 5 % abv, the Dunstonburgh was spot on). Dog friendly, nice position and not too noisy. Definitely give it a try.

Lovely little pub with a lovely atmosphere, dogs welcome and brilliant home made food. The owners will bend backwards to make sure you are happy, recommend 100%.

Came with the intention of having Sunday dinner, weren't impressed with the two unfriendly young waiting staff so just got drinks and left. First impressions count and a smile costs nothing

Not a great Sunday lunch, lumpy mash, the beef was tasteless, the veg was cooked ok just again lacking seasoning. Waitresses sat at end of bar looking very bored.
