I've wondered for a while why such an interesting looking pub in a lovely village seemed, most times on passing, to be closed. Now I know why. I had to pick up a fellow golfer for the first time from the village. My satnav had already deposited me in the wrong place so I pulled on to the ample empty... More

If I could give this establishment minus 5 stars I would. I've lived locally to this place for many many years and it's just horrendous. I'm counting down the days until it changes ownership and is taken over by some actual pleasant people. It is absolutely wasted in its current 'owners' hands. It's pretty much open one day a week,... My friend had the steak pie with a side of chips and also said it was very tasty. We had 2 desserts... More

This place is open about once a week if you're lucky, they shut whenever they want and i wouldn't say are reliable enough to even keep you table. small parking yard and could do with a revamp.

Dinning area badly needs updating and smells quite damp. Table mats stuck to table. Yorkshire puddings rubbery, veg overcooked, no mash or boiled potatoes, deep fried roast potatoes, plate blistering hot it dried up the gravy.

My partner Glen and I often visit this lovely tranquill pub on a Sunday for lunch. We stumbled on it by chance on day on a trip up the Northumberland coastal route. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, very homely indeed, the food was served in the dining room and was delicious (I always have the... More

Was visiting this beautiful and quaint Northumberland village on business this morning, pulled into the car park at 10:15 to wait for a phone call, parked far side away from the building, near the roadside, and sat watching a lady tending to the flower pots, reminding myself that I'm yet to sort out our hanging baskets at home. A chap... More

Went to this pub the other day and was immediately struck by the lovely smell in the porch. The window sill was full of beautiful geraniums. Went into the bar where the landlord made us feel very welcome. I must say how clean the place was, even the tankards on the ceiling were without dust. After a while the regulars... More
