We've just enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Anglers Arms. All the staff were superb, the room, while small, was clean & well equipped. The breakfast was lovely & the evening meals very hearty and well cooked. The added bonus was the 3 well kept real ales. Thoroughly recommended.

My husband and I had been shopping all morning and were feeling cold and peckish. We decided to try The Anglers Arms for lunch and it turned out to be a lovely experience. A lovely warm fire, and excellent lunch and friendly staff. What more could anyone want, We will be returning.

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and have always enjoyed the experience. The menu is good and varied and the food is served well cooked and presented by smiley and attentive staff. It's a lovely cozy setting with many antiquities adding to the ambience. The bill whilst pricey represented good value considering the quality offered.... More

We went on Saturday night, looking for somewhere to eat from Rothbury where we were staying. We got to the Anglers and plumped for a couple of Specials: Stonebass with kale and King prawn skewer kebab with sweet chilli and sweet potato fries. Excellent choices, really enjoyed those main courses. Desserts were good but the mains excelled. Only criticism is... More

I have passed the sign for the Anglers Arms on many occasions But something put me of visiting, what a mistake. I recently stopped there for dinner with my wife and we were both delighted with the choice and quality of the food plus the excellent friendly service. I will be making the detour off the A697 a lot more... More

We called in for dinner on recommendation of the good food and the experience. Well, the food was fine, although I felt the portions a little excessive. However I did manage all 3 courses! So that must be testimony to the chefs in the kitchen (guys just tone the portions down, less is more in these cases). However I am... More

Ate in the restaurant after a recommendation for which we were very grateful. Lovely food and friendly welcome. Really interesting and varied menu, with some great veggie choices. The lemon posset was stunning! Will be returning to try some other dishes on the menu.

We saw the sign on the A697 and thought we should "give it a go" one lunch time during our holiday. We are so glad we did. Mr M had the Belly pork with a black pudding fritter and some other tasty bits and I had the Chicken and Chorizo pasta bake with garlic bread and a salad. Everything tasted... More

Quite a popular restaurant. Went on the off chance without a reservation. Fortunately they accommodated us in the bar. We had good pub-grub from the menu. Very nice from what I remember. Would go back again if in the area.
