Visited a year ago, but it was for a cycling event - it was great then but I didn't get that much time to sit back and enjoy it. Its everything you might want for a stay away in a traditional place. Lovely setting, great food both in the evening and for breakfast, and the people were friendly, efficient and... More

We visited prior to an evening of star gazing at Kielder Observatory, and had an exceptionally good meal with excellent service. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend a visit. Booking advisable as it was very popular and full the night we went!

We stayed here primarily because it was near the observatory which we visited on Saturday night. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay and the room was spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant each night and the food was always excellent. The cooked breakfast was also excellent. It is a fairly remote spot but I... More

On a drive to Kielder Water we called in at the Pheasant for a light lunch. We were greeted warmly, given a good table and served promptly. We just had sandwiches, but they were well made with good bread and ingredients. The beer was well kept and well served too.

Thank you for our lovely meal tonight. My lamb was amazing and my sister and husband's chicken pie was very good too. Lots of lovely and perfectly cooked vegetables. So glad we had booked, perfect place to eat before the Kielder Observatory.

A proper pub with fantastic food. Several vegetarian options (a vegan choice would be great in future). Staff very friendly and helpful.

An idyllic country pub restaurant. Ate here twice and both meals were excellent. First night I had king prawns with garlic and chilli, followed by lamb with rosemary and redcurrant – all delicious. Husband had ham hock terrine and roast beef. Night two we both had the same starter (they were so very good). My main course was a chicken... More

We ate Sunday lunch at the Pheasant Inn on our recent stay at Kielder, they accommodated us even though we had not booked and they were quite busy which we were very pleased about as we enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch. I had roast beef while my hubby had the lamb, both very enjoyable. We followed this up with... More
