I've visited Rumseys several times before as I used to live in Thame and it's a nice place to meet for coffee and cake, especially on a Sunday when you want to get out of the cold. My only criticism would be the price of it. A slice of cake will set you back a fiver and personally I don't... More

A couple of visits in the last week. Service is very good and friendly. Delicious sandwiches and cakes with a good selection of hot and cold drinks available. The food arrived very promptly too.

I regularly visit here. I like the music they play. They make a good bacon sandwich and I'm addicted to their Mocha! It would be even better if they had more sofa's.

I was quite disappointed with the cakes here. For a chocolate shop I was expecting a brilliant chocolate cake but it was very average. I got some shortbread to take away and again found it to be average.

I have visited here a few times and always find staff very welcoming and the cakes on offer are amazing. As all the chocolate is made in-house, it is nice that they give you some with coffee and other hot drinks. Will definitely keep returning here.

On the spur of the moment visit to Thame and just because it was a bit chilly a hot chocolate was called for. Fabulous little bolt hole serving coffees teas cakes and light lunches all looking delicious but the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows is truly srumptious. A mug of freshly made real hot chocolate with a generous dollop... More

The chocolate is made on site, so they give you a little piece of chocolate with everything - nice touch. It's a classic old tea shop, with old fashioned decor, old music playing etc. I enjoyed the Cottage Pie - however be warned, it is so hot, they've sent rockets to the moon with cooler engines than that pie!!

Good quality coffees, fantastic cakes and of course chocolate in all shapes and forms. Ice cream is also recommended

13 friends and I travelled from Kent to the Oxfordshire Hotel for a short weekend break and needed a little stop off point on the way. I had Googled a few tea rooms to visit and so very pleased we found Rumsey's. I had called a few days before to book a table but we're told they didn't take reservations... More

Very good for lunch. We had homemade soup with super bread, reasonable cost. The staff were great. Give it a try.

Thank Frank B

Situated in a beautiful Georgian building in the Upper High Street of this historic market town on the edge of Bucks and Oxon, our Thame shop offers plentiful seating, free WiFi, comfy sofas, window seating with a view of the town and a lovely mini-mezzanine which can be used for meetings, groups and parties. Nigel Rumsey's thirty years experience as a Chef and Patissier provided the inspiration and depth of knowledge needed to become a Master Chocolatier of distinction. Nigel and his wife, Mary, opened Rumsey's after being inspired by the film 'Chocolat', their aim was to provide a wonderful sumptuous environment in which to sit, eat lunch, drink coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
