Nice pub, friendly service but the fairly simple food was terrible. What a shame, the menu talks a good fight but doesn't deliver. Sad to say will not revisit.

We had to wait for 1 & a half hours for the food to arrive & there was only one other couple eating food in there at the time also there were only 4 of us so the waiting time was ridiculous, the food wasn't to good so I'd avoid going here for food

It's a room over a loud pub, I probably choose the wrong pub as was run route to a mtb race and just wanted to sleep really. Loud music played till midnight and there's no insulation so was v loud in the room. They did accommodate an earlier departure than they normally do.

We are weekly regulars and have been off and on for 20 years. The atmosphere staff and bear ciders are excellent. The food is hearty but generally below average quality. Good outside area and welcomed kids and dogs. Occasional bands. Best when students return.

First time in the pub, quite impressed by the menu. Came in for dinner, having seen some dishes were £5.95. Hubby had hunters chicken, daughter had the fish and chips, I had the veg curry. We were a little unnerved when the owner walked past and asked us if we were eating, and we said yes, so she said the... More

Worst tagliatelle ever tasted, weak runny sauce, virtually no bacon. Not interested in our complaint. Whoever cooked this seriously needs to think again.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and would convey a warning to anyone thinking of staying and getting an early night; the rooms are not at all sound proof and the music in the pub echoes around the rooms until midnight, when the pub closes. This wasn't an issue for the first night as we didn't arrive... More
