We had a lovely Sunday roast here. It was very reasonably priced and the staff were really friendly. It's cosy and comfortable decor and views across Exmoor made it a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

A group of 4 of us went here for a Saturday Night meal and found the staff to be friendly and the atmosphere good. They had run out of a lot of food which was a shame, but what we did get was huge and...More

Based on previous reviews and my sister having eaten here last year we decided the Culbone would be a good choice. Our group of 9 + dog had pre-booked a table for sat 14th. The menu was uninspiring and therefore we hoped the food to...More

Had enjoyed many meals here over the last few years but wasn't aware that it had changed hands since my last visit. The menu was typical pub fare rather than the interesting ones that used to be offered so I chose one of the specials...More

We had not eaten at the Culbone Stables since the new owners had taken over so decided to give them a try. It turned out to be an evening of 'how to get things wrong' 1) There was only one menu to share between the...More

Called in here on speck whilst touring the area. Staff attentive, and got the impression this was under new management. The ‘cook’ (not the chef he said), was cheerful and recommended the soup. Broccoli I and coconut. Strange flavour, hard to describe, not nice and...More

Alex and myself Annette, have recently taken over the Culbone Stables Inn on Exmoor. It is situated on the A39 between Porlock and Lynton in the idyllic heart of Exmoor. Our Inn and gardens are in a beautiful setting and have exceptional views across the valley of Coombe. Our aim has been to renovate the restaurant back to a welcome, friendly Country Inn/pub. Our menu is traditional pub fare, at reasonable prices, using local produce. We welcome walkers, cyclists, families and dogs. We have 5 on suite bedrooms. 2 are opposite each other (one twin, one double) with their own landing and would be perfect for families. Room 1 has its own private patio, with stunning views. Our motto is , anything you want, just ask. We might not be able to fulfill some requests but there's no harm in asking.
