We booked The Unicorn for Sunday lunch the week before Christmas for a family group of 10. Some had travelled from Plymouth and the others from Basingstoke so it was a very convenient location. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We all opted for the roasts - but not all choosing the same meat. There was a good choice... More

My wife, my 95 year old father and I had another very nice meal, good quantity of veg & meat and plenty of lovely gravy. Service was good, although the waiters could look a bit happier!! and speak up a bit to us older folks.

My family and I went here for a christmas meal on boxing day, it turned out to be no way a christmas meal in the slightest! There was absolutely no effort in the menu at all, it seemed they had got it from an every day greasy cafe you'd expect to pay a fiver for. The 2 nicest sounding things... More

We popped in, as we were staying nearby on a Saturday night. The place wasn't very busy but the waitresses seemed to be standing around chatting to eachother. I ordered a cajun chicken burger. It was processed chicken nuggets with some wet slimy salsa on top that made the bun all soggy and unpleasant. The chips were good though. My... More

We were recommended to try the unicorn by the B&B we were staying at and went with it despite some mixed reviews on here. We were 2 families of 4 with a broad mix of choices and we all enjoyed it. The young waitress did very well with our big table and we had a couple in drinks in the... More

Unicorn was recommended by our host at a local B&B. Plenty of choice on the menu, food was quite good but service was a bit slow - not the waitress's fault - she was the only waitress there and it was quite full.

Lovely little pub, cosy, parking including disabled. The food is great and the service also and nothing is too much trouble. Wednesday night is roast dinner; better book though as it's extremely popular. Five stars.

Excellent food and service. Lovely girl with long brunette hair served us and looked after us well. Lovely meal with a beautiful fresh starter of Whitebait and Calamari. A wonderful burger to the finish and wonderful locally sourced cider on draught. A wonderful place to eat and surely a wonderful place to stay :)

We called in on a Saturday lunchtime for a drink and a meal. We couldn't get to the bar because of the "regulars" seated there. The barmaid eventually served us without a please or thank you and turned her back on me to resume her conversation with her friends. Needless to say we decided not to eat there. However we... More
