Visited for lunch today and received excellent service, our waiter was prompt polite and had an exceptional memory for orders he was great with the kids and nothing was too much trouble. I believe his name was Dave just wanted to thank him for making...More

Stopped here during a long drive to Devon from a London and were less than impressed. The food is expensive for the little quality, but I guess this is offset by the option on selected meal within the 2-for-1 option. We both had burgers. The...More

Have been here before and been happy with meal. Sadly today was not so successful. Two of my party had roast beef (Sunday lunch), they both said the vegetables were great but the beef was rather tough, hard to get the knife through and very...More

I really like the Wagtail, the food is always good and very reasonably priced and it’s a great place for families and friends to get together. The highlight this visit however was Jon, our waiter. What a polite, friendly, funny, charismatic, approachable, helpful and thoroughly...More

The meals are initially overpriced (£11.45 for a salad!), however because all meals are But One Get One Free the value turns out to be great. We visited the pub twice whilst staying at the next door Travelodge. Both nights Friday and Saturday were very...More

Popped in early one tuesday evening for the first time. It was very busy. Meals are typical of a chain and buy one get one free. All cooked and presented lovely. Fab young waiter. Very good value, friendly and a nice atmosphere. Would go again.

A quick walk from Travelodge and I was soon seated in The Wagtail. Excellent pint of Hobgoblin which is always a bonus. Very good food and excellent service. This is not gourmet food, but it is freshly cooked, and plentiful and far better than Weatherspoons...More

Like Wetherspoons but not as posh. The staff were the highlight, the speed of service was second best, the drinks third, the bill fourth and the food last. Trying to forget about the food and just remember the staff being smiley.More

Many thanks for your, er review I am glad the team met your expectations, I don't quite understand the comparison to Wetherspoons however as we operate a very different style of business for example full table service and 25 daily specials, I don't personally consider...More

Discovered this by chance. Decent pub grub, cheap(ish), clean, and very good service. The two for one deal on mains was a bonus. The Wagtail is on my list of stopping places.
