This what all pubs should be like, a bit spit and sawdust, roaring open fires, outstanding selection of real ales . A MUST VISIT PUB WHEN YOU ARE IN BURTON

great choice of ales - my friend said it was good to see a joules pub. i had rhubarb cider in here - lovely tasted of real rhubarb rather than a synthetic taste that some have. good bar snacks in here too, a pasty was bought! very cosy good atmosphere and friendly staff.

This is a fantastic real ale pub. Barrels stacked up behind the bar adds to the authenticity of this place. People are friendly and the no nonsense but genuinely warm landlady really makes this place. Went on a Sunday afternoon, where they hold Acoustic Sunday events - saw an act by the name of Bruno Gallone, who was so impressive... More

I frequent this establishment on a regular basis as it has a wonderful range of beers and ciders that are priced reasonably. It is a cosy place for a quiet beer with friends or to listen to the folk musicians that attend on a Tuesday evening.

Really good beer here. Independent Cask beers in an atmospheric and homely pub full of character and friendly people. It's my home from home in Burton.

Firstly, note that The Coopers does not serve food, although I highly recommend the pork pies (if they have not sold out). This is my favorite pub in Burton upon Trent as the atmosphere is also great and the drink is blinding! I love the fact you have to squeeze in to get to the counter to order from the... More

Went there on Sunday afternoon with an old mate, great beer with a wide variety, excellent ciders and high alcohol content, one man band provided excellent entertainment sadly I can't remember the singers name but a great afternoon. Well worth the visit

Title sums it up really, if you're looking for a proper pub with a bustling atmosphere and good real ale this is everything you could need, lively at weekends whenever I've been in and the occasional folk night in the week which really brings the place to life.
