Came here on a Sunday for lunch, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. The food was amazing especially the pork and prawn spring rolls! Will definitely be going back to try more dishes!

Visited the supermarket and saw this Vietnamese restaurant upstairs. Not too busy, mixed clientele. Some staff a bit surly, some kind and helpful. The main guy always courteous and available. Food awesome.... Great value too.

Planned to visit the Chinese restaurant on the ground floor but the queue was long do we went upstairs and found this gem. Very quick service which suited us as we were just nipping in for a quick lunch. Good service and not bad value. Food (shredded duck especially) was very good.

We have always enjoyed this place and this time came to celebrate a family anniversary. We turned up at 18:00 and the place was relatively busy. By seven there were hardly any free tables left. The portions are almost all for sharing, so be hungry when you go there. The food is tasty, the service is good. 10% service charge... More

Not eaten Vietnamese food before so went for the seafood based set menu. Wish we had gone a bit more varied as the content of the main dishes was heavily prawn/squid based. However the food was still good. Place is spotless and nicely presented. Service very good and at £17 a head good value. Would definately go again.

Visited for the first time as we regularly opt for the Chinese restaurant on the lower floor of the wing yip centre. Was very pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent, food served promptly and staff were attentive. Food was very good value for money and very tasty. Nice quiet restaurant, a hidden gem. Will definitely be going back more regularly.

Restaurant was recommended, we arranged leaving party of a very dedicated member of staff. The waitress was so miserable, unhelpful. Everything was so much trouble for her, her attitude was that she just wanted to go home. After our meal we all wanted coffee and was told they had no fresh milk.and no ice cream. Food was not the best... More

Opened in November 2006, An Nam Restaurant is Croydon's favourite spot for authentic Vietnamese food. In early 2007 owner Myoi Cao surprised locals by winning Croydon's Oriental Chef of the Year competition, beating the likes of Wagamama and Miso head chefs to the top. An Nam has since grown from strength to strength, popular among south Londoners and even far-off visitors from around the UK.

About us: Chef and owner Myoi Cao has lived in south London since 1981 and worked in the restaurant trade for over three decades. Her culinary roots, however, are found halfway across the world in the southern Mekong region of Vietnam.

Myoi had long-memorised her mother's recipes and over the years has expanded her repertoire with regular trips back to southern Vietnam and Cambodia. Southern Vietnam ("An Nam") is known for its abundance of seafood, fresh vegetables and herbs, and for its bold flavours - lemongrass, fish sauce, tamarind and chilli.
