Im a regular at this pub. Probably to regular. Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter and son wanted to take me out for a meal. They only wanted to go to The Fox. Whilst i hopefully get on with all the staff, some of whom I've know for years, i was welcomed with everyone wishing me a Happy Birthday.... More

We've been 100% supportive of the new management of The Fox since it was taken over (still a Greene King pub of course) however the price hike to £5 a pint for average drinks, eg. San Miguel are beyond reasonable. In addition the 'casualties' of the new management are far too extreme for us to believe that there is no... More

After having not a great meal! and poor service, we recently tried The Fox again - and were pleased to see a change of menu, that catered for everyone, with a good choice.. The food we had was really good.. didn't go for anything special, just The Foxy Burger and the halloumi, roasted red pepper and field mushroom burger -... More

I visited this recently refurbished pub shortly after it opened and undoubtedly the new owners have transformed it. Not all the decoration is to my taste but it seemed to have potential. We are in the restaurant upstairs on both occasions for an evening meal. I find it expensive for what it is offering but I thought we would give... More

This being our local pub, we were so pleased when we heard about the refurbishment. The pub looks great and is a huge improvement (imho). In addition, the new management are incredibly engaging with their customers and are always seeking to improve. I cannot wait for the summer and to use the garden. Keep up the good work!!

We felt we should give the new look Fox a go after such a huge refurbishment. A group of us were taken to the large room upstairs. The first impression was the racket - there are no soft furnishings to absorb noise. I think their money would be better spent on decent drapes than ploughing up the ground outside. The... More

Dear SandCH3 We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the décor in the upstairs dining room. The Fox has undergone an extensive refurbishment and we are continuing to make changes with the help of customer feedback. We offer a range of wines by the glass and currently have 16 wines that cost less than £6.50 with the... More

First impressions of this pub are good. They have gone out of their way to impress with decor. Seated upstairs in a rather large dining area, we were for the best part of the evening the only diners. Ordered meals for eight people, after approx an hour, we asked 'where the meals where'. Oh, a problem with the till and... More

Even though this is the closest pub to home, I have put off eating at The Fox, until now, due to feedback from friends and the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a table booked for 6.30 and had a very friendly welcome. All of the staff were attentive throughout our meal. However, the food....the food....what can I say?... More

The Fox has recently been refurbished and it really does look lovely. We had dinner there with a friend and the food was delicious, but a little slow to come out. The only thing I object to is paying £4.50 for a serving of fresh veg, or chips. And interestingly on the night the cheapest dish, chicken stew, had sold... More

Our menus change often and vary in price from starter (£5-£8) and mains (£9.50-£21 for a 10oz rib-eye steak). Thank you for leaving a review.
