The royal oak was recommended to us so decided to give it a try. Had an evening meal with a friend, good menu choices, very reasonable prices, staff were friendly and served us well. Dart board etc one end, other dining end was cosy with...a log fire. Nothing fancy but good honest pub grub, will be back again.More

If you want to experience an authentic British pub which gives you a warm welcome and good food at reasonable prices, then The Royal Oak at Farnham is definitely worth a visit. The centuries old building with open log fire and unpretentious decor contribute to...a relaxing ambiance. Mine host and his staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent. The food was standard pub grub but tasty and hot. Altogether a very enjoyable lunch.More

The food is average, nothing special and not expensive. Rather stop here than Beaconsfield services off the M40. However, they state triple cooked chips on the menu and they are simply oven chips. I wouldn't bother ordering them because they just aren't. All in nothing...special and I wouldn't actively go to a Chef and Brewer because they are below par for this day and age. Better than Beaconsfield services for a stop but on balance there's much better available these days.More

Easy drive from Hampshire for an affordable and delicious Sunday Roast with a beautiful view from the large garden. Friendly and safe service. Thank you very much. Will return when things open again.

Today we had a very enjoyable lunch at The Royal Oak. Sadly it was very quiet but the landlord made a great effort to ensure all was well with us, seating us by a roaring fire. The duck breast was very tasty and cooked to...pink perfection. The scotch egg starter was just the right level of gooey in the middle. Lovely crumble for dessert, the smaller portion but very plentiful. All in all, highly recommended.More

I visited back in March and found the team here to be very accommodating, well organised and the food was delicious. There is a great positive feel in this pub and I wholeheartedly recommend visiting when you can.

Myself and two friends went for Sunday lunch and found it very mediocre , only enough roast beef for a small sandwich ,asked by waitress how we would like the meat, chose medium rare turned up well done anyway what there was of it yesterdays...reheated roast potatoes , badly cooked parsnips and carrots some indeterminate vegetable sludge the sort of meal that you would get in a factory canteen . I have been to he Royal oak before and have always had a good reasonable meal before ,their must be a muppet on the loose in the kitchen, bar staff nice enough but a bit dizzy didn't know how to handle my complaint at all, they need a bit of training, but first of all get rid of the cookMore

We were visiting Birdworld and came here for lunch. Called ahead, they kept a table for us. We sat outside as befits the public in times of covid. The garden is lovely. The food is tasty, The beer selection is decent. The service is spot...on. All in all, a great place.More
