I used to live a few blocks away so the 'pub' had become my 'local'. It was always, however, more of a delightful eating place and I had enjoyed many a delicious meal there. On our recent trip to the area, my daughter and I were certain of one thing only: we had to eat at The Canbury Arms. Over... More

Kingston has many Alfresco restaurants but not many that can match the quality of the Canbury Arms. Recently updated menu still includes the old favourites and the addition of their Stone baked pizzas have to be tasted to believe how good they are. If you have not been to this pub yet you really are missing out!!

I was here earlier today for Sunday lunch with my family. We had a lovely meal and a few drinks. The menu is impressive and not too expensive. The staff are very efficient, professional and most importantly of all happy and well mannered. The portions of food are big and you may think you'll struggle, trust me, you won't as... More

I've been coming to the Canbury Arms for 12 years; I live on the same road. I have been here for meals with friends, meals with family (including 2 children under 7), and meals with my partner. I have come in solo for lunch, grabbed a glass after a day at work, and played a game of cards or scrabble... More

I have given this place so many chances! Mainly because the food is great. I really want it to be my favourite local. However their attitude towards children means I won't be visiting again. Without fail, as soon as they see we have a child, whenever we go the staff try make us eat in the conservatory instead of in... More

Thanks for your email, I'm really sorry you had such an unpleasant experience. Last Saturday we had a wedding reception from 1pm and so the conservatory was empty whilst we set up. We have always been referred to as a family friendly pub and do our utmost to accommodate families as you'll see from many previous reviews, I refer you... More

We have loved this culinary spot not far from the shops and chain restaurants of Kingston centre for a number of years and there is nowhere better for a light lunch or a full-blown meal. The salt beef Reubens sandwich was just perfect and the crayfish and prawns in the salad that we also chose, actually tasted of prawn and... More

Let me say first of all that I am a reasonable " regular " both here and at their sister The Wych Elm. Much as I sing the praises when good, it's equally important to give an honest review when things aren't up to usual standard. 4 of us dined last Friday night. They now have a pianist, which as... Thank you for your feedback, we are always pleased to hear feedback. I'm sorry you felt the music was too loud, both Michael and I were dining in the pub on Friday too and I do agree the amplified vocals were a little too loud to start however we turned down this down but probably not enough for a table... I have visited the Canbury arms for functions as well as with my family over the last couple of years and it is always a pleasure. It has a really cosy feel, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. With comfy chairs by the door when you walk in, to open fires in the winter and a piano against the... More

£70 for four pints two soft drinks a bottle of wine two chips and humours with black carcinogenic pitta. The pitta was exchanged but should never of been sent to the table. Bar staff tried to get me to settle someone else's tab too.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm really sorry for the mix up over your bill, this happens rarely but it can cause unnecessary embarrassment. We do have a couple of newer team members so possibly this was the route of the problem. Whatever the case it is regrettable that this happened to you. Our pricing structure reflects amongst other things our... More
