I would stick to having a drink only . Plenty of staff milling about, that’s one issue “ milling about “ but not serving their customers needs . Triple cooked Chips , it would of been nice if they were at least cooked once !...Nice pub for a drink but will avoid for food for a while . Used to be busy at the weekend but seems not the case now . Generally that means one thing !More

Popped in for a cool refreshing drink..... Staff service was awful, you couldn’t help but hear them complaining about working, and when you ordered a drink it was if they were doing you a favour. We were wondering what this place was like for an...evening meal after a recommendation but my advice steer clear.More

We stayed in a lovely room, but it was pricey and we had to wear ear plugs as the boilers were noisy. However it’s a lovely place. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good.

Great Caesar salad, chilled New Zealand Sauvignon, attentive staff, even when super busy. Relaxed vibe, and nobody rushing you. Lunch was from 1pm to 4pm, my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do. Thank you for making our lunch so relaxed.

We ate here on a Wednesday evening, and had a table in the garden. The staff are very pleasant and our starters arrived within a reasonable time and were both good - ham hock and the squid. However we then had to wait well over...an hour for our main course and we had both ordered fish and chips. This must surely be one of the most straight forward, quick and simple dishes on the menu to prepare so I’ve no idea why it took so long. The waiter came over to us at one point and said dessert would be on the house due to the delay in getting our main courses. There were only a couple of other tables in the garden and the pub itself looked fairly empty so they weren’t exactly busy. When it finally arrived it was okay, pretty average and the same could be said of the pannacotta we had for desert. It looks a lovely place, just a shame we didn’t get a great service that night.More

Had a lovely impromptu lunch with friends visiting Petworth. Sat out on terrace. Staff, food and drinks superb. The bar bites were just what we needed as a light snack, sausages so delicious, we went to buy some from the Hungry Guest Butchers!

I should begin by saying that the service on the night we visited was absolutely fantastic, led by the lovely Christy, even though it was a busy evening. The menu on offer is mouthwatering and on this occasion we chose to begin with the Cucumber,...Watermelon & Feta Salad and the Spiced Salt & Pepper Crispy Squid. The former was a delight and the latter was wonderfully fresh and tasty. As entrées, we knew we couldn’t go wrong as the fish was from the Hungry Guest fishmonger and the meat was from the Hungry Guest butcher. So our natural choice went to the Whole Mackerel for my partner and the Angel Burger for myself. We finished with the Hungry Guest cheese plate which was not only an incredible selection of cheeses and biscuits and chutney, but was also such a lovely end to a fabulous night out. Thank you so much, Sam, Christy and all of the delightful staff at the Angel Inn, Petworth 😊More

My friend and I have started visiting as regularly as possible for a delicious breakfast with super friendly service. The scrambled eggs with bacon, avocado and mushroom is so good. All this rounded off with a lovely flat white coffee is an excellent way to...start the day!More

I have visited this lovely pub numerous times. Good food and Good beer. Me and a close pal went for a lovely walk to then have a pit stop at the pub. Had a few drinks in the garden which I have to say is...a very lovely and tranquil setting. We were drinking near the smoking area which is lovely to have a designated smoking area as embarrassingly we smoke. The reason for the slight disappointment was because all we could hear while in the garden was a bell being rung every couple of minutes. We also heard a man shout a word I will not describe on social media. We could see staff were busy and rushed off there feet but the language from the gentleman in the kitchen spoilt our drink.More

We visited The Angel last Thursday for my husband’s birthday. We had the Hake Special. It was excellent, as was the dessert. We have visited many times over the years and this was the best meal we have had here. Believe there is a new...chef. I would recommend as he is very good!More

There is a small carpark on the other side of the street opposite the main entrance but possibly easier to park in the main town carpark and walk up the hill to the pub (5 minutes).

No, I don’t think so. Also, you enter from the street up two or three steps.

As far as I know yes. Not compleatly sure. There are 2 very good coffee shops in Petworth. Coco, Tiffins and I think a place called Cherries does coffee as well.
