There is nothing special about it but you do get a tasty standard offering. Popular with the locals and the wait time can be up to an hour when busy. For a small town it is acceptable.

The menu seems to be different kinds of bases with the same rotation of sauces. I guess this means there is something for everyone. They also have very western things like fish and chips on the menu - surely though one would expect Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant. My father had the flounder; it is the probably the most... Restaurant has no atmosphere, staff is friendly but knows nothing about the food. The kitchen is fast, but uses wired ingredients. Not even chicken sweet and sour or steamed rice is eatable.

Had one of the combos - two medium pizzas and a garlic pizza and soft drink. Excellent taste and enough for two full meals for two. Highly recommended!

The staff were lovely even though we didn't have a booking. Ordered our food and drinks. Fried rice had no prawns and was average. The combination chow mien was tasty. The battered chicken in plum sauce was delicious and the honey chicken was strange, they used a strong tasty honey instead of a sweet honey. The fried won tons were... More

Average chinese restaurant, meal and service OK, reasonable value. With not much else in town, it was OK.

The staff were friendly but the food was bland and gluggy, so it was a disappointing meal. Even the steamed rice lacked the fluffy quality of freshly cooked rice. The restaurant is clean but has no real character.

Came here on recommendation by the manager at our accomdation. Didnt expect much as the first waitress didnt know the menu or ingredients. While the restaurant is named Shanghai, they dont serve shanghai cuisine (definitely no pan fried buns as pictured by one of the other reviewers). I asked to speak with the manager or chef as I'd wanted proper... More

Such a lovely surprise to find this restaurant in quite a sleepy small town. Very friendly staff. The menu was extensive and the food excellent quality. We could not fault it. Satay lamb, prawn chow mien, beef in black bean, all the favourites that did not disappoint. Quality was equal to or even better than some places in Brisbane. Well... More

Shanghai is probably the best Chinese restaurant this side of Hong Kong eat in or take away is always delicious ,we have been customers for about 8 years now and have yet to be disappointed with our choices from the vast menu .We recommend this venue for lunch or just a quiet dinner in the comfortable seating of the restaurant.
