I never leave a bad review but this was unorganized, chaotic, expensive and served with plastic cutlery and staff seemed overwhelmed. Maybe management don't care as there are limited options in this town. There only seemed to be 3 restaurants open and 2 required pre...More

My partner and I ordered simple meals of spag bog and a beef burger. After waiting quite some time and noticing a table who ordered after us had received meals, I asked about our meals. The kitchen could not explain where our meals were. They...More

This is supposed to be a walk-in restaurant. Despite there being tables available 4 - 6 seats they didn’t have a table for two. The arrogant guy at the counter saying there were no tables available. Obviously hedging his bets for larger groups. We walked...More

Food was great but shame about the service. There was one young lad who was trying his best but the place was overrun and lacked leadership to feed and sit the masses. We asked a waiter to take our order but he said he would...More

We had dinner here and both our meals were excellent. A wide choice on menu to cater for every palate. Prices were very reasonable and meals were served very quickly considering how busy they were.

We had oysters for entree, seafood fettuccini and seafood risotto. Making a booking is essential if you want a table when you want dinner as it fills up quite quick. Service was lovely and the food was perfect.

Description
Rebuilt in 1936, Hamer's captures the old-world charm of this mining port turned fishing village, where the walls almost speak to you of bygone eras. Settle back by the open log fire with the locals for a local ale or select from a range of Tasmanian wines. The bistro offers steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta and daily seasonal specials. A comprehensive wine list is also available. Hamer's Hotel is open for lunch and dinner everyday of the year except Christmas Day.
