Now that Bend is officially a Beer Haven, the microbreweries are trying to outdoor each other in casual classic funky decor. Crux is doing it well, with very good beer, good service, good food, and a killer back yard area where music swings, fireplaces glow, the tacos flow and the beer.....we it flows too.

The Crux Fermentation Project aka Crux Brewery is a tasting room inside a brewery. Or is it a brewery in a tasting room? Located a few blocks from the Old Mill District - Bond St. then right on Industrial to what appears to be the end. The fact that the tasting room/ brewery is located down a very industrial looking... Banished Doublecross is the most amazing beer I have ever tasted! The food is excellent as well. We have had several different items on the menu and all were very well made. Always come here when in Bend!

We stayed near downtown but were amazed that, even though we walked through a residential area to get here, how amazingly accommodating the city was with a pedestrian path that crossed the railroad tracks to get here. Beer heaven and an awesome local vibe that is laid back. Tasting room right in the middle of the brewery is awesome. Beer... More

Crux is my favorite local brewery! The cast out IPA is my personal number one choice but if you have never been to Crux is suggest the sampler. Their menu is limited but the amco salad with chicken is my fav!

My family and I visited Bend for the first time. We started by visiting the cute shops downtown and then had lunch and beer at Deschutes. While we were there, we saw a brochure for a brewery trail. There are 10+ breweries and when you go to each of them, you get a stamp that shows that you went there.... More

We had just arrived in Bend - time for lunch. Crux was perfect pick! Seasonal food and wonderful beer.. We ate inside, but I understand they have awesome outside options also. Families were enjoying picnics and games on the lawn.

We really enjoyed the beer tasting and the meat and cheese platter. Service was good and the community tables were nice and we socialized with others while we were there.

Went to Bend for a conference and went out to brewpubs in the evening. Only went to three, Deschutes, Sunriver, and Crux Fermentation Project. Deschutes is, well Deschutes. Sunriver was okay beer and good fingerfood. If you have kids Sunriver is a great spot. They have a playground. But Crux rose above the rest, at least in regards to beer.... More

Crux has an amazing atmosphere, fantastic beers, and creative fun food. It was our favorite go-to place before we moved to Bend - friendly and welcoming to everyone, including the large influx of non-local visitors. Since we've moved here we've been able to visit more regularly and the experience is fantastic every single time. I love the variety of food... More
