We stopped in for take out, I had a pesto veggie wrap, filled with roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, cucumbers, spinach and other goodies, soo yummy and very filling. Came with a small portion of vinegary cole slaw that was very good and multi grain chips. Just what I needed after a weekend of fried seafood and heavy chowder. Hubby... More

Thank you for your review, I'm happy that your experience was positive. It's especially great to see the concept work where Vegetarians and Carnivores can enjoy dining together. Hope you'll come back to see us. Chef John More

There are a handful of restaurants within walking distance in downtown Cannon Beach, we visited Sweet Basil's Cafe at the recommendation manager at "The Waves". I am glad we did, we were seated directly in front of the kitchen and were able to see chef "John Sowa" in action. This was our first time at this lovely little cafe and... More

Came in from other tripadvisor reviews and was happy to see a full restaurant on a saturday in december. they were able to seat me immediately where i shortly placed an order for the vegetarian pot pie. after a long day in the rain, it was filling and warm + it had good flavor and hit the spot. One star... More

Thank you for your review and visit. Unfortunately at times our small kitchen gets bogged down if guests arrive all at one. I assure you we are working on a remedy. I'm surprised about the waitstaff situation and can only think that it might have been due to a rush and they at times really try to be as quick... More

My husband and I were looking for a good quality dinner place, without breaking the bank. I had the Crab stuffed Portabella and my husband had the awesome Pork Belly Burger. Both had flavor galore. We can't wait to go back again on our next trip there.

Although there are lots of vegetarian, organic, gluten-free, locally-sourced, non-GMO options, especially at lunchtime, this little gem earns its rating for classic Cajun cuisine. Excellent seafood jambalaya, shrimp creole, crawfish ettoufe, crawfish pie and two kinds of gumbo make for tough decisions. A superb pork shank over cheesy polenta and killer crab cakes make the dilemma even more serious. Often,... More

Thank you Mark for your great review. We'll keep the quality going and hope others appreciate it as much as you. I'm working on some menu changes that will bring a few more Creole dishes to enjoy. This summer we're planning on outside BBQ and more of our own smoked choices. Thanks again Chef/John More

We eat dinner here every time we are in Cannon Beach. My husband loves Cajun food and they do it very well. He has never been disappointed. They have gluten free and vegetarian options. I had a crab stuffed portobello that was outstanding. They also have wonderful live music on weekends. Don't miss this special restaurant

A cute little place tucked around the corner with a great culinary selection. The wine was excellent. The service was wonderful. I had the bison meatballs and they were probably the best meatballs I have ever had. I also had the white bean soup and really enjoyed it. I noticed they had vegan and gluten-free options too. My husband had... More

This was our favorite meal in Cannon Beach and should be ranked #1. Thanks to Trip Advisor we learn of this wonderful restaurant. We love Cajun and Creole cooking and this place was authentic. We enjoyed the crab cakes and crawfish etouffe. And chocolate pecan pie for dessert. All excellent! Lots of charm, romantic and great service. Wish we lived... More

We lucked out, had beautiful Oct 29 evening. So we walked the town and window shopped all the restaurants. Sweet Basil's seemed perfect, casual reasonable price and great selection. We ordered three topaz and then shared the gumbo....all were awesome. Wine was spend but our total bill was $60. There was a Halloween costume contest and nice music group. Highly... More

On a recent drive down the Oregon coast, I stopped in Cannon Beach specifically to eat at this restaurant. I had checked out the menu & was looking for vegan. The restaurant itself is quirky and the food was good but my server was a little sour, which put a bit of a damper on the meal.
