If you stay only one night in Coos Bay, it's best not to miss a meal at Blue Heron Bistro. The restaurant features both seafood and outstanding German fare. We opted for the German option. Local draught beer (many stout choices) can be ordered in...More

Service was friendly, dinner was edible, but hardly authentic German good. Bratwurst boiled or micro-waved flavorless, German potatoes salad cold homefries with some kind of condiments added.

We had a large group as you can see. The waitress even took this picture for all of us. Super friendly, great service and beyond amazing food! We all loved our meals and the banana foster cake was incredible and I’m not always big on...More

Very good traditional German food & beer. Also have great desserts of which you get a free one if you pay in cash. Kinda slow when they are very busy.

This was a total surprise. Delicious German food in a Northern California seaside town. The decor was cute, the server was friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. The menu offers several German national dishes, as well as some more typical American diner fare.

I have had German food many places, including Germany, and this was right up there with my better experiences. Both our traditional dishes were very good and filling. Desserts were wonderful with many choices. My only disappointment was that the spaetzle was fried, I like...More

I had the Octoberfest which is a sampler of three entrees and it was excellent. My wife had the cabbage rolls which was also excellent. Try the goulash soup as an appetizer!

Pleasant service and a great selection of unusual German beers. The weinerschnitzel was delicious. A vegetarian plate is offered, still with that German flavor.

Casual but not "fast food" casual. The atmosphere is friendly with a German pub look about it, very welcoming and comfortable. Kids will be comfortable too. This time of year it's a long walk but a very short drive. Probably... More
