Love the home-style breakfast. Classic American eats with efficient, kind and thoughtful service. Make a reservation if you have a group of four or more in the late morning so you get seated quickly. The whiskey rootbeer float is amazing for those leisurely brunch days.

Have eaten here a couple of times now and love this building and ambiance. Friendly staff and really good cafe food. Very reasonable prices. Beer, wine and some cocktails available. Wonderful Caravan coffee. These folk have achieved the right combination for success.

The restaurant is clean, fresh, and charming with a delightful wait staff. The owner, Erin, visited with us for quite a while. I had house-made navy bean soup which was perfectly prepared by Erin and chicken tenders, which were good. My husband had a salad that was beautifully prepared with an abundance of ingredients. I took note that the furnishings... More

Lovely wait staff, great back story on the old church and repurposed wood table tops with mortised ends to keep from warping. you're gonna love it. Great R Reuben and cod fish and chips, fries couldn't have been fresher. Constant drunk refills A winner!

The staff is warm and friendly, try and accommodate to the best of their ability. We had not finished meals and the cook was concerned when noticed it coming back at the end of the meal. It was only because we had stuffed ourselves on the homemade soups. Highly recommend and much better than going into McMinnville for a good... More

One of the best burgers I've ever had. The Block House Cafe is clean, in a quaint old church and is always reliable for good food. Check out the salads too if you want some healthier options.

Delicious burger in the heart of wine country! Do some wine tastings and then stop at the Block house for a yummy burger that runs about 10 dollars. You won't go away hungry!

We've eaten here several times now and keep coming back - for good reason! Everything we've had is delicious and reasonable in price and the coffee keeps flowing! The service is always accompanied by since smiles and small town family feeling. The owners take pride in the atmosphere, employees, and personally cook the food themselves. Just a hop from the... This place is right on ! We were picking up some fruit tress locally, and stopped at The Block House Café for lunch. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. The restaurant is in a 100 year old for church, and beautifully set up for a restaurant. Seating outside is possible too. We had a couple of glasses of... More

Do NOT miss this cafe if you are in the area. (10minutes from McMinnville.). We had lunch here one day and went back for breakfast the next. BIG Hamburgers - hand made patties, buns and the best french fries, patty melts, Reuben sandwich, etc etc. all fantastic!! But breakfast is just unbelievable - chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs and... More

Description
The Block House Cafe is located in the Dayton First Baptist church constructed in 1886. The church has undergone a sensitive and meticulous restoration with an addition on the back (kitchen). The Block House Cafe serves breakfast and lunch with dinners and later hours on Friday nights. Come and enjoy our signature cinnamon roll pancakes or a hand pressed burger with local grass fed beef. Our espresso is locally roasted in Newberg, Oregon and all of our dishes are prepared fresh and to order.
