Recently we had a couple of meals here. A wonderful waitress named Sara served us both times. She is knowledgeable about the menu and willing to share that information. We didn't find anything extraordinary about the menu or preparations. Good clam chowder. Good small dinner salad. We're on the coast so we pretty much stayed with all seafood items. They were professionally prepared, presented in a straight forward manner with nothing to set them apart from other good seafood restaurants. This place is reliable, has a few good bottles of wine (not an extensive list) and during daylight hours a very nice view of a small bay. Hit it at the right season and you'll likely see some whales swimming outside your window. It's a good, reliable "local" spot.

Tidal Raves has very attentive staff. On this visit, our server, a tall gentleman whose name I forgot was very good at telling us how different items were prepared and making recommendations. He even got us to choose a wine varietal we never order and we enjoyed it immensely.

We were at Gleneden Beach for our anniversary and wanted a nice low-key place for dinner. We decided to try Tidal Raves. I had a very nice Gamay Noir and we started with the crab cakes for appetizers. They were delicious. Probably some of the best crab cakes I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and moist. Yum! For dinner, I had the rockfish which was perfectly cooked and my husband had the coconut shrimp which he said were delicious. I was able to make our reservations on line and we had a nice view table. We will go back next time we are in the area.

I made reservations, wanted to go at 6 but couldn't reserve a table until 6:45 arrived at 6:15 and was immediately seated enjoyed about 10min 's of view then it was dark... I ordered fish and chips they were heavily battered and overcooked, very greasy so I peeled all the breading off and as I was the waitress came over and asked how things were tasting and before I could reply she was gone. all in all, I had 4 bites of fish and my fries where cold... this experience is nothing like I imagined it should be I have no desire to return.

Went for lunch. Reservations required and even with seating did not happen until 15-20 minutes past reservation. Better to call and make a reservation than to schedule one online. Parking not so available in lot but spots on street. Food was just so so. Ordered steamed clams(good), crab cakes(not worth money for only 2 crab cakes-appetizer), tuna melt(really good), chicken sandwich(good), special which was Dungeness crab flatbread(just ok) and combo seafood salad (just ok). Good selection of wines although really good wine offered by bottle only. Try well drinks as they look very interesting and reserve rose bourbon a definite try. Average cost of a meal 17 dollars(lunch). Good glass of wine 10 dollars. View was best part of this visit. Best seats by windows. Server was new and unfortunately got our order and others around us wrong. Server was very nice though and we were understanding and patient. So many places to go on the coast now for a great meal waterside that we felt this establishment could have done something more to have that “WOW” factor! One of the best locations on the Oregon coast and not sure if we would return.

Since the restaurant said on its website that it didn't take reservations, we walked in and were told it was going to be a two hour wait for dinner. The host said, "Some call and put their name on our waiting list. Others come in and put their name on the waiting list and then we'll call them when a table is available." Well, isn't that a reservation? If we had known we could call or stop by and put our name on a waiting list, we would have done so. A two hour wait? Who wants to wait two hours to eat? In any event, we walked to the other side of town and had a nice meal. I recommend letting potential guests know they can call or stop by and put their name on the waiting list.

We have eaten at Tidal Raves for years and faithfully supported them through the ever changing COVID restrictions. The food and service has always been exceptional. Until tonight. It almost seemed like the place had experienced a change in management. The food was substandard for a $100+ check, the service made us feel like an inconvenience and the management was unfriendly. Sadly, it will be quite awhile before we return, if ever. Good luck.

Our family went to lunch here. Ordered the hamburger, razor clams, tuna melt and fried pacific oysters with panko. Each order came with a side - chowder, salad etc. Well, totally underwhelming. The hamburger was ordered medium rare and came out well done. The razor clam ($ 24 entree) was really chewy. Oysters tasted off... like old... The only thing really positive was a bottle of albarino... good price point. Great view though.

Our waiter would not refill even our water.i had to go to the bar to have it refilled. My husband got the pasta rave, supposed to be full of seafood, the alfredo was basically waved over the top and watery he got 2 shrimp 2 ??? What the heck.i got the fish and chips and the breading was thicker than the fish. The view however was outstanding.

Tonight my beer battered prawns were way over cooked. Batter overly done so peeled batter off to try and salvage dinner and shrimp hard and over cooked. Sad because this is my favorite restaurant on the coast and I have had this meal at least 10 times. I told server who was very busy since it was a saturday night about 4pm who apologized but that was it. Didnt offer to take anything off bill or mention to cook. Will give them a few months and try again, maybe they will be back up to par.

We checked on their website before walking to the restaurant this evening. The website states they aren’t taking reservations but fails to mention you can call ahead to get on the wait list. Thus when we arrived there were 16 people before us and about an hour wait. They took our cell number and texted when our table was ready. It would be helpful if the website was more specific as we could have called before walking over. When we got the text, we were quickly seated and our waiter came right over and took our drink order. After that I started with a starter of a half order of Seahawk Bread which was absolutely delicious and then for the main I had the Pasta Rave in a creamy pesto sauce which was also very good. My husband started with a bowl of clam chowder which he said was very good but not the best he’d ever had. His main was a disappointment as he ordered the Sea Scallops with risotto. His critique of the meal was that the risotto was very good. It appears the scallops had little flavor except for the oil they were apparently cooked in. Although he said he would eat at Tidal Rave again , he would certainly not order the scallops. The restaurant has lovely views and the service is very good. Our waiter was excellent, very attentive. However, the problems was someone else brought out the starter and mains. I’m not sure who he was as he wasn’t dressed like the waiters, appearing to be dressed more casually. Perhaps someone in management. Whatever the case, he would come out , plunk the food down and mumble something neither of us could catch and walk away. I’m not sure what was going on there. Dinner for the two of us, including one beer and tip was just shy of $100. Not totally unreasonable for seafood but the most expensive item was the scallops at $30 which weren’t worth the price. Given the chance, we might try Tidal Rave again but we certainly will avoid the scallops.

This restaurant has really gone downhill. We really enjoyed dining here on previous trips to the Oregon coast. The gentleman who was greeting guests at the door was very good. After we were seated the evening basically went downhill from there. The restaurant is in a great location and the view really is beautiful. We ordered a glass of wine each and they were without a doubt the smallest glasses of wine that I have been served in a restaurant. It was not happy hour and we paid regular prices for what was probably 4 oz. glasses of wine. The table behind us also ordered glasses of wine and their glasses were a standard size. How come! I wanted to say something but my husband didn’t want to make a fuss. My husband had the steak and I had shrimp scampi with garlic butter. We had the salmon chowder and salad before our entrees. On my order I received 5 very tiny scampi that were totally lacking in taste. My husband’s steak was okay but he prepares a much better steak at home. For $40.00 this should not be the case. The best part of my dish was the brussels sprouts. My husband said the same was true of his meal. We had various servers during the course of our meal. When we were asked how our dinners were and my husband replied that his was okay and the server left before we were able to mention how disappointing my meal was. We shared a key lime pie for dessert and again it was only okay. This used to be so good but with 4 oz. pours on the glasses of wine, indifferent service and poor quality of food we will not be returning.

The view is spectacular- as all tables look out to the ocean. We had lunch there and the service as fast, friendly and helpful in guiding us to what we wanted to order. We had flatbread w pesto, crab and mozzarella cheese melt which was tasty and a large order for one. We also had the rockfish tacos w pico de gaio which were well prepared, fresh and served w rice and blackbeans. The wait staff was friendly and we were seated immediately even though there was a line for window seating- we could easily view the water from our table. It was quiet, tables were well spaced ( in respect for Covid) and our meal was well prepared. We would definitely go again- Recommended!

Rosa was my server for both days, when I drove down to Boiler Bay to watch the King tides come in. I was seated where I could watch the ten foot tides hammer the rocks. Both days I got the salmon, a salad with tiny shrimp and just for fun, a scoop of ice cream. The cook knows when to pull the fish out of the heat, which is such a joy. It's not cheap, but then due to Covid I made a point of giving a very generous tip, because I was so appreciative that people were working. The panoramic view is part of the dessert.

During a coast trip we finally had a chance to stop at Depoe Bay and get out to walk around the various shops. After looking at the various dining options, we decided to stop by Tidal Raves for lunch. This is a modest size split-level restaurant located on a bluff overlooking the shoreline on the very north end of Depoe Bay. There is some off-street parking available, with additional parking available on Hwy 101 fronting the restaurant. The restaurant decor is warm with large tall windows providing a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean from your table. The menu has a surprisingly broad selection. I had fish and chips, while my son opted for a curry dish. My wife had a soup and salad. All of our selections were excellent, and the service was friendly and helpful as well. Tidal Rave is an excellent dining choice if you are in or passing through Depoe Bay.
